View Full Version : Soon in Colorado...
Hi there !
My name is Hannu Uronen. I am from Finland, but me & my wife are moving to Boulder, Colorado after couple of weeks.
Reason for registering to this forum: we are both active sport shooters and we use AR-15 rifles for all IPSC and Finish military reservist matches.
My company also builds our own Uronen Precision AR-15 match rifles here in Finland.
Hope to meet other AR-15 people there ! :)
Best Regards,
Hannu Uronen

Welcome to Colorado and the forum.
I hope you do well in Boulder. It's not really a gun owners kind of town.
Welcome!!! Sorry for what is going to be an "interesting" experience in Boulder... :)
Thank you guys !
Could someone please explain, what makes Boulder non-gunfriendly city... ? Never been there before :)

Welcome!
You will enjoy living in Colorado as there is so much to do and so many places to see. The weather is four seasons but pleasant. The people are friendly.

Welcome, Hannu!
Colorado is a wonderful place and is generally very gun-friendly. Boulder is a place that tends to attract people a little further left on the political scale and is not as gun-friendly as the remainder of the state tends to be. But it's a beautiful city and you'll most likely enjoy your time there.
The neat thing is MagPul is headquartered there!
I'd be very interested in hearing more about your company. Are you setting up shop here?

I'm not sure if you are familiar with USA politics but there are two groups, Liberal (left) and Conservative (right).
Conservatives tend more towards traditional values and liberty, gun ownership being among them.
I won't even try to explain liberalism in the USA. To me it looks like a confusing lump of special interest groups and gun ownership is not among them. Maybe someone else can chime in.
Congrats on the decision to come to colorful Colorado, and COAR15. Feel free to look me up if you want some insight on some good shootin.

Welcome to the forum.
You made a great choice in Colorado, and Boulder is a great little town to live. Welcome!
Boulder? Think hippies, tie-dyed clothes, The Grateful Dead, tree-huggers, hybrid cars, hairy-legged women, sandals, hemp clothing, just about everything you can think of that's non-gun friendly. That's what a huge amount of Boulder is like. Especially the government. Denver isn't much better.
Now the rest of Colorado, is more conservative and cowboy-like. More of the "old west" flavor.
These are generalizations, of course, and I'm sure to be flamed by members from Boulder. But by and large, Boulder isn't a gun-owner community.
I see a lot more active people in Boulder these days than hippies. It is a big athletic community here. Which is great. Out of shape, unhealthy citizens makes America weak!

I am travelling with my wife, she is going to work at the university. I do not have a job, at least not yet...
It seems that as an alien it might be very difficult to set up a gunshop in US...
Here in Finland, our primary customer group is action shooters, like IPSC.
We have sold / are selling Colt, S&W, Bushmaster, Sabre, Stag Arms, DPMS AR-15 rifles and all other AR-15 things we can get :)
We also build our own line of match AR-15 rifles "Uronen Precision". Barrels come from Germany (Lothar Walther), we make ourselves lower/upper receivers, gas blocks, muzzle brakes, scope mounts etc. parts. Most common trigger systems are Jard adjustable and JP, buttstocks come mainly from ACE, magazines from H&K, optics from Meopta, Swarovski...
Other popular products are, for example, CZ and STI International pistols, which we also customize here. Just to mention a few things :)
If you are interested in our things here in Finland, I would be happy to tell more.
Perhaps, we should consider some other place to live... Have lived our lives next to Russia, that is enough about left-hand politics ;)
Can you recommend something ? Longmont, Louisville ? We do not want to go to Denver, though.
