New research conducted by the University of Pittsburgh bolsters a claim long made by gun rights advocates that lawful gun owners rarely commit crimes.


In 2008, there were 893 firearms recovered from crime scenes in Pittsburgh. Of those cases, 79 percent of them involved a suspect illegally carrying a firearm. Only 18 percent of the gun crimes involved legal gun owners.

Although it is unclear to me what "illegally carrying a firearm" means and if that is supposed to be synonymous with "carrying a firearm owned by someone else", this potentially confirms a few things:

A) Most journalists are idiots (But we already knew that)
B) New laws don't stop bad people from doing bad things (we also knew that)
C) Hillary is a cunt (also old news)

Not just the anti-gun types. The same can be applied to those pushing anthropogenic global warming/climate change. Since Americans generally get their news from just reading the headlines, it's a leftist tactic to get the big headline. This "study" may be later retracted due to lack of supporting evidence, but it will be done without any fanfare, so the intended effect remains. For example, "Study shows autism linked to childhood vaccinations".
