Semi Auto Rifle

Hey everyone, I am looking to use my Sig716 to hunt this year and I am trying to find an appropriate sized magazine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, it seems everywhere I look are 10 round magazines or more. I can't find smaller ones.

Does anyone else hunt with a semi auto rifle?

If I recall correctly, the 716 uses standard AR-10 mags? If so, these would work:

It doesn't have to be a 5 round magazine per se as only being able to hold 5 round while you're hunting. You can use a 10 round Magpul 308 pmag and the -5 block and be legal for hunting. Kinda like a plug in a shotgun magazine.

I emailed the DOW about this wnen my son wanted to hunt with an Enfield with a 10 round mag, here is their response:

Robb, thank you for your e mail. This is the answer from CPW Law Enforcement.

A magazine that has some type of internal block that would require dismantling the magazine to remove it would suffice as well. This is no different than a plug in a shotgun which is not a permanent blockage but does require dismantling in the field to remove the plug.
Therefore, a block in a magazine that is between the spring and the follower or between the base plate of the magazine and the spring would be O.K. since it would require removal of the base plate to remove this "blockage". It cannot be, for example, a 10 round mag. with 5 dummy rounds in it followed by the 5 live rounds.

All that said, I think it would be easier to purchase a 5 round magazine.

A few days late, but I have hunted with my LR-308, and I just made my own mag-block that limited a 20rd down to 5, and called it good. I actually got stopped by two DOW "officers" and questioned about it, and both said it was perfectly acceptable.
