My wife and I recently moved to the grand junction area and I'm looking for someone to go shooting with every now and then. I go by myself but it's always more enjoyable with another person. If you want to meet up let me know.

If you are ever in the ft collins area let me know and we can hit the pawnee range.
Thanks!
I've been wanting to check this out. Didn't know where to start.
I'm in Olathe and swamped with work McCormick
or I'd catch up with you. Less busy in about a month.
There aren't many active on the western slope here, but there are a few, including myself (Orchard Mesa). I haven't had time to shoot sadly in quite awhile (more than a year), but if I ever do get time and you're still around I'll hit you up.
There is one indoor range here, Rocky Mountain Gun Club. Their memberships are less than $300 or you could shoot for $10 an hour (bring ears and eyes).
My best short term recommendation, if you shoot pistol, is to go to IDPA. There is a range about 3-4 miles down Reeder mesa road in whitewater, very large "Jarvis range". The first Saturday of the month, be there at or slightly before 8:30AM. Bring a handgun, a couple magazines, and a good outside the wasteband holster (belt mounted). Make sure you have excellent safety practices before going, especially keeping your finger off the trigger. Cost is $10 for your first, $20 thereafter. Generally 30-40 people show up, you shoot five stages. As long as you have good safety habits you don't have to know much of anything going into it - they will show you the ropes and it's easy to figure out. You can use it just for fun/practice, shooting with safe people, not competition (unless you feel competative). You'll shoot five stages other people have prepared, often with dynamic targets. It's a consistent group of people where it's easy to make like minded friends. We also have USPSA on another weekend. Carl Feghali runs that, he's a dentist, great guy. Lots of other organizations out there on differing days. It's been a few years since I've done it but I used to S.O.
Have fun, and welcome to the valley.

Thanks I appreciate the info. I've been shooting at the blm land by the grand junction airport and it's been nice sure beats the $20 range fees I have been used to. As for the IDPA shooting I may have to check that out I used to shoot 3 gun back in California before I moved to Colorado two years ago.
