Going after knife makers now...

http://www.thetruthaboutknives.com/2016/08/wells-fargo-to-hogue-inc-we-wont-do-business-with-weapons-manufacturers/

We were just informed that Wells Fargo Bank would not do business with us, refusing to provide their services based on the fact that we manufacture “weapons” (aka knives). Incredibly, this refusal came after THEY initially pursued us to gain our business. Once we had decided to go with Wells Fargo, they then pulled the plug saying they could not provide their services since we manufacture weapons…Needless to say, we are shocked and confused – considering their logo is a stagecoach and driver with a shotgun too! We felt we needed to inform the firearm and knife community of this discriminatory stance Wells Fargo has taken.

Here's their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/hogueinc

If I find out any of you owned any "weapons" I'd have to avoid doing business with you guys.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be a business that is so big you can have an entire staff that is instructed to alienate your clientele that is happens to engage in a legal venture. And to have no fear of repercussion from the government.

But whatever you do if you’re small and in the baking, not banking, business don’t deny a gay couple your services the government will come after you and force you to do business with them.

Our VA mortgage was sold to those fuckers. Might be time to refi already. Let 'em know I don't do business with businesses that are run by stupid people. Of course, that's a lie because so many businesses are...but it would be fun.

One of the myriad of reasons not to do business with Wells Fargo (the horrible service being an even bigger one)

So the American people have to bail you out, then you start charging fees for everything and now this. I'm so glad I refinanced to get away from them then closed all my accounts with them even the credit card. I hate you wells fargo!!!

A certain gun store I used to work at used Wells Fargo for years. I would even go in, gun strapped to my hip, and make deposits almost every day. Without issue.

I also have my NFA account with Wells Fargo. No issues.

Wait, I thought the latest government crusade was to tell business owners they can't refuse service based on their beliefs. Are you telling me that doesn't apply in all situations?

Love or hate them, this is not a WF policy. As mentioned above, likely something else is going on here that Hogue doesn't feel like sharing, or someone locally/regionally has done a bad job communicating a local decision. It'll get resolved.
Lots of firearms/weapons companies use WF.

Possibly. However, in the past 2 weeks, I've gotten emails from small companies that are involved in the firearms industry (components, accessories, etc.) and they all have had to immediately switch their payment processing company because they've been "cancelled" due their affiliation with the firearms industry. And just because companies have done something in the past, "company xx has been using WF for years now", I don't expect it to continue for very long... But time will tell.

Sorry, but my personal opinion is that this is the beginning of a trend... Look at history, it's repeating in front of us. I hope and pray that I'm wrong, but I highly doubt it.

I have so many Wells Fargo stories .... Just yesterday, I was talking to a woman who was trying to use a small estate affidavit to get possession of her deceased husband's checking account and was illegally refused by Wells Fargo. If someone calls me with a problem with a bank, I say "It was Wells Fargo wasn't it?" Only wrong once ...

Won't argue with you there. Credit card processing for those of us connected to the firearms business in general is pretty rocky. I've had to change card processors 3 times now in the last 2-3 years, due to policy changes or firearms-related issues. Those that do "support" firearms businesses have additional restrictions on how/when you're allowed to handle gun transactions. Operation "Choke Point" proved the pressure was real and not an imagined problem, and I doubt we've heard the last of it.

Regardless of Wells Fargo policy, it's good to see these types of issues get rapid attention in the press and social media, so it's obvious any immediate issues will become public quickly. At least it makes it hard for companies to hide if they're trying a "soft" ban on firearms business.
