So I decided awhile ago I wanted to build a lighter rifle, went broke gathering parts, then dropped it off with Adam and crew up at Mile High. Went with a Surgeon 591 short action, Proof Research 22" 6.5 Carbon Fiber barrel, Manners T4A Elite with a PTG DBM, Timney straight trigger. Rifle came out at 8lbs 9oz, add a loaded magazine, Nightforce Atacr 5-25 F1, Atlas bipod and it comes in at 13lbs 4oz. I could definitely use some lighter components but I'll figure it out as I go. Can't wait to get it out, had it chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor so I could shoot box ammo and load for it when I have time.

Sounds like a great rifle recipe! I'll buzz both of you guys next week and maybe we can put something together.

Hell yeah, I need to quit buying guns and start shooting more! Tim's got a spot pretty close to him, or we can hit CRC.

The Proof barrel on my rifle has been a hammer with consistent 1/2 MOA or better performance . Best groups have been 1/4 MOA and the average just under 3/8 MOA .

Lighter rifle you definitely have to pay attention to the fundamentals , not as much forgiveness for slop as a heavier gun .
