I believe these are being sold now, anybody handle one in person? Have any of our industry partners or gun shop owning members ordered them? I'm slightly interested, but would like to handle one in person. I suppose many will want to make sure any kinks are worked out first. Thoughts?
Thoughts?
You'll shoot your eye out, kid.

That's weird.
I was just heading over to the other shield thread to ask the Same question!
I'd like to run one. I'm impressed they kept it very close to the same size as the 9/40.

My Glock 33/27/26 project isn't coming to fruition like I'd planned so I'm thinking about selling or trading it off for another Shield 9mm or even the 45.

I rotate the 26 in, but the shield is my daily this summer. Favorite carry set up for summertime, just took it off...

Would like to run the .45 for sure.

Nice little setup you have there. I like the idea of the 45 because it would then be my only carry caliber (which is kind of the opposite of what I was planning on doing with the G33).

I carry both 9 and 45 so the new shield would fit right in. There are some decent comparisons on YouTube university. I'm interested in checking out the new texture on the grip. And the improved trigger. Although I'm sure apex will be right along unless it's the same trigger components as the 9/45

Yeah I really like the looks of the grip texture.
Handled one at Ark on Thursday. I really like the way the new texturing feels, my hand gets a good high grip on it. I compared it to the Defender I was selling. The Shield is thinner, virtually the same length and height. The flush fit mag holds 6, extended holds 7. I feel with 185gr sd ammo it'd be a fine ccw piece.
Let me state I'm a big fan of the 9mm Shield, considering you can find them for $350+ - and that there's outstanding 9mm ammo (Federal HST as just one example) available I don't know that I'd spend the extra $100 or so for one.
Even for this die hard 1911 guy I liked how it felt better than the Defender.
I just purchased a shield 45 this weekend. Took it home and cleaned it, then off to the range. Amazing! 200 rounds later and I was making unbelievable shots at 130 yds! Recoil was not as bad as I thought. The texture is the greatest part for me. the front cocking serrations are kind of sucky. Overall I love it. I do own glocks and 2 other 9mm shields, but this will be my new carry piece soon.
$429 at Jerrys outdoor sports.
