Some dumb ass vendor wearing an Obama shirt brought his 380 pistol to the show and shot himself in the thigh while holstering his pistol!

Pitiful.

Went to the show this weekend in Loveland- lame ass show. Cost $8 to look at overpriced crap and beef jerky. Damn high priced bullshit. Wont be going to this show again. Quite a few jerk dealers- like they were doing us a favor selling folks $15 box of 9mm and $600 Glock 17s. Pretty rude- no dealing. Some dumb ass vendor wearing an Obama shirt brought his 380 pistol to the show and shot himself in the thigh while holstering his pistol! Ironic? Dude seemed to be a dick- crying and shouting about losing his leg and dying . Luckily, another vendor had a surplus trauma pack- bystanders used it to get him ready for he medics. Think that gunshow might be in trouble- security? Haven't seen it mention any place else? How did the dude get the loaded pistol in there? Makes me feel real safe going to that Embassy show.

Tor

Wow, I can't believe you're complaining. I would pay $8.00 everyday to see an Obonehead supporter shoot himself. Sounds like good time to me, sorry I missed it.

I wonder if this is the same retread that popped off a round while finger f**king his carry gun at the Tanner show a while back....

I did see one booth that had a couple of PEQ2As for $800 each, but given that they were in a glass case with other beat-up looking military optics and accessories, I didn't think they were legit. As in, "fell off a truck somewhere" type of equipment.

I love it when liberals say "liberals own guns too" like I'm supposed to be worried about these ass hats having a gun. Stats show that liberals are more likely to take themselves out of the picture before we have to :D [ROFL1]

As he, and anyone else with a ND should have been.

I am with M2MG I would pay 8 bucks to see a lib shoot himself in the leg and the cry like a school girl.

Like my favorite DEA agent told me in a famous youtube video...... " I am the only one in this room qualified to handle this gun......bang!"

A reckless endangerment charge and a hole in his own leg is certainly a lot better than if he had shot someone else.

It sounds like the guy was not wearing an obama t-shirt, according to a dealer that was 20 feet away and one of the first to respond.

damn I would have paid big money to watch an idiot with an obama shirt on shoot himself in the leg.

If I were the vendor I would have saved my surplus med pack and seen how well the guy did. I would have told him to cut up his obama shirt and make a fucking tourniquet.[Coffee]

Is sheep a plant? If he was a plant I would say a tomato. But it does sound like something that the antigun types would do just to slander gun shows. Is there a way to check to see if this guy is the one from the tanner gun show?

I understand that ND's happen, even to careful folks, but this instance sounds like what I call a TSTO error. TSTO = Too Stupid To Operate.

This guy should give up firearms and stick with something he can handle safely - like Legos.

I was at that Tanner show! I was two booths over holding my son when it went off. I was looking right in that direction prior to the ND. Talk about being pissed! I just walked out of there with my kid.

So was this guy a vendor at the Loveland show or just a attendee?

According to the Denver Post, he was a vendor.

As a rookie gunsmith all these incidents just go to helping me to remember that complacency is and or can be deadly! This is a dumb man!

So was this a ND? J/K we don't have to re-hash that old debate. Stu....[Beer]

Naw, I read it but wondered what it had to do with original post other than the ND at the show.

Oh, I see... Nope, no relation to the ND at the gun show. Nonetheless it is worth reading. It puts in perspective how suddenly our actions can impact our lives and the lives of those around us; and also how complacency plays such a significant role in accidents.

Talked to a few dealers about Mike shooting himself. From what I was told is as follows.

A person entered the show and checked his side arm as we all do. when that person got to Mikes table he then pulled out the 380 he had in his ankle holster (THAT WAS NOT CHECKED AT THE DOOR) and handed it to the holster maker who then shot himself with it.

bottom line for me if that is true or not is you always treat ever gun as it is loaded!! law suit coming?

Now treat the above as a hear say untill we all find out more.

Even if this is accurate, and it very well may be, why wouldn't he have checked the gun when it was handed to him? Why was his first item of business to pull the trigger after being handed the gun? Why was the gun pointed at any part of his or anyone else's body? Why were the two previous actions combined? I always check a gun after its handed to me, even if I just watched the guy who handed to me check it, and then I still treat it as if it were loaded. I don't see how this could be blamed on anyone else. The guy who owned the gun should be in hot water for not checking it at the door, but he should not be held liable for another person's mistakes, especially within the professional realm in which they were dealing!

I could not agree with you more. I bought a rifle from a pawn shop like8 years ago or so that went like this.

Back when the law changed to make folks who pawned their firearms get back ground checks alot of them could not pick up their firearms because of the new law. Many of them tried for years to get things straightened out and some just kept up the payments for a long time.
now this rifle was in the back for over two years. when they brought it out the first thing I did was open the bolt and out popped a round of 30-06 with 3 more in the rifle. they were shocked but i wasn't.

I will find out more about it later.

well talked to the guy who put the compress on him and witnessed it.
funny how stories change before you get the chance to talk to more folks.

Was I was told is the guy did check it at the door and a band was put on it. when he got to the dealers table to try out a holster he cut the band off to see how it would fit. he inserted the mag in it as the was locked back removing the strap from the front safety check. then closed the slide and it was then loaded and he gave it to the holster guy who then pulled the trigger.

So it sounds like this guy almost went out of his way to violate every rule that was in place at the gun show as well as most standard common sense gun safety rules.

I guess I'm stuck on "why the guy would pull the trigger". Triggers don't pull themselves. Duh.
