$5.00 Sonic Boom Box. Bacon Cheeseburger, choice of dogs (American, NY, Chicago, etc...), choice of heavily salted tots or fries and a Coke. Sign me right the fuck up. Obamacare will take care of my later health issues.
Tasty. Very tasty.
Speaking of unhealthy fast food, if any of you are passing by a Carl's Jr. you should stop in and get their bacon cheddar fries.
We got the $5 boom box last night. It was our son's name day and to celebrate we went to Sonic after Mass. Though not yet 2, he loves himself some tater tots.
We thought it was a great deal; add another drink and for less than 8 bucks you have a meal for 2 adults and a toddler.
Who don't love 'em some Tater Tots? Loved 'em as a kid, and damn, I still do today.

If budget is ever a concern, I have found I can feed two adults for about $5 at Del Taco on Tuesday. They have specials on tacos that day and I try to pick some up on my way home.
The sad part is how hard it is to keep a meal from fast food under $5 these days. This is a good deal.
I was starving when I opened up Tapatalk now I'm really starving after reading this. Worst part is I'm in highlands ranch so closest sonic is in roxburough

Fixed it.
So if he engaged in giving up tots, would he then be a teetotaler?

Yup, we haven't done much fast food in years, and we definitely don't now. Even McDonald's costs around $20 if the wife and I order a combo and the boys get dollar cheeseburgers.

Now you're talking! I'm from OK, and Sonic is based in OKC, so they were everywhere. I grew up scarfing down #2 SuperSonics and O-rings! And it shows too.....
Hmm, there's a Sonic about a mile away from the house here in Parker, and I've got errands.....

Diablo burger. So good but makes you feel like a wounded animal after eating it.

Still would like to have Whataburger as an option.
Got the Boom Box a couple of weeks ago. The bacon chili cheese dog is da' bomb.

I'm an Okie to. Remember when I was a kid stopping at Sonic and eating after we finished bucking hay all day.
Two piece dark meal with two sides and a roll for $3.30 out the door (after Sooper Card discount). At the nice King Soopers you can chose your sides from their deli counter as long as the side isn't another protein. So you can have awesome stuff like a tortellini salad for example. Otherwise it is standard fare corn, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, etc for sides. I get the grilled chicken when available, but they also have fried and barbeque as well.
I do like some Sonic chili cheese tots. I just don't make any plans afterwards as I usually end up in my recliner with no energy after eating a whole order.
I made some queso with homemade green chili that I used smoked pork in, then poured that over some chik fil a waffle fries last night. [Lick]

Make your way to Midwest City for a Del Rancho burger...

Oh yeah, Chester's Chicken at KS! Great meal and cheap!

Never had their burger, but isn't that the home of the Steak Sandwich Supreme?
Want a good burger, hit Sid's Diner in El Reno. Johnnie's Onion Burgers in El Reno looks good too, and that huge gun shop/range off I-40 in OKC is supposed to have good chow in their diner. I grew up in Enid, and Lotta-Burger and Lenox ruled there, but the greaseburgers at The Flamingo Lounge were serious competition.
Been to Sids....damn good...best onion burgers in OK are at some lil diner down in Purcell...used to ride my bike out there all the time...
Onion burgers, mmmmm! An Okie delicacy!
I've been burned by sonic too many times to want to go back, if they don't manage to fuck your order up, they tend to put out a dried up patty or dog in a stale bun. There was a time I enjoyed them but I guess there's a reason why so many of them have been shut down here. Although I won't get as much food for $5, I'll go to Goodtimes for their big daddy to fulfill my need for a good quick burger and fries.

I really miss their fiesta steak burrito. Favorite fast breakfast, and they had to get rid of it...
