Anyone submit a Form 1 after the deadline?

This is just out of curiosity. My understanding E-forms is no longer valid which means going to paper.

No more e-file, paper is now a multi page affair.

Was just wondering if anyone filled one out yet.

My other secondary question is now what is the point of doing this through a trust. The paper work will be a PIA and I know it will be sometime before the ATF gets to the forms that were submitted after the deadline.

Trust puts others with immediate access to your nfa stuff. No trust means a Form 5 after you die, to bypass any bgc / extra tax stamp fees. No trust means you must be on site if anyone uses your nfa items. It's a personal choice, you either file with or without a trust.

No not yet.

Getting a Galil SAR built which I should have in a few weeks. It is being built as a rifle with a permanent muzzle device. I intend to SBR it

Still just been curious if anyone has done a Form 1 since 41F

Just been curious as the NFA transfer thread went quite with new submittals

With it being paper only. Wait time is 6 months. I did my last F1 first week in july, not expecting anything till 1/17.

I'm about to fill out my first Form 1 since 41F.

I found the following forum thread to be extremely helpful. It covers both Form 1 & 4 for Individual & Entity. Of particular note was learning that I can order fingerprint cards online and preparing them myself.

That's pretty thorough, thx for the link.

Just a further comment that with the deluge of submissions prior to 7/13 to beat 41F, wait times are more likely 8 months to a year for anything submitted around or after that date, for at least the next year and a half.

Called ATF last week to check on a form 1 from March. It has been approved and in the mail to me. Agent stated that the current wait time is 8 months. Stated they are working on March submittals.

I submitted a form 1 about three weeks ago. It took about an extra hour to do all the paperwork, most of which was spent trying to get their damned form to print correctly on both sides of the page. I printed my own picture at home, and the Windsor PD did my prints for free as a resident. About the only 'gotcha' was having to order the correct fingerprint cards, which are available for free from BATFE and took about four days to get to my house. I'm not very happy about the added work, but it isn't the end of the world. To make it simple, I removed all other responsible parties from my trust via amendment for the time being.

How hard was it to remove the responsible parties?

About ten minutes on Nolo plus about 20 minutes waiting for the one guy with a notary stamp at the local copy shop to finish his lunch.

If you're sending in multiple Form 1s at the same time (SBR, DIY suppressor), how many completed fingerprint cards need to be submitted?

2 fingerprint cards for each Form 1 application. I tell my clients that each individual application must stand on its own. The fact that you're putting multiple applications in the same envelope is irrelevant. Assume that each of your applications will be shuffled to a different examiner as soon as they open your envelope.

This answer can be found in the Form 1 instructions, paragraph 2.e.

Iam hoping to get a Form 1 out this week. The whole process is kind of confusing at first but pretty straight forward once you read all the fine print.

What would it take to get NFA overturned, or restrictions on SBRs and suppressors simply removed?

I think getting the NFA overturned would be about as difficult as getting the NFL overturned.

Getting the HPA passed may be a bit easier .

Form 1 SBR
paper - individual

08/12/2017 - approved

FYI - you can fill out and perform the finger printing yourself on your own without involving LE or anyone else. I had read that this was possible so I decided to give it a shot and do everything myself. Success!!
