So if they're no longer living in the USA, can they still file suit?
I 'give the school credit for acting the way they did no matter what race the kid was.
As far as the parents suing it's BS.
probably at the directive of Obama, after the kid visited the white house.

His parents aren't suing the fed. govt., they are suing the local school district in Texas City, TX.
Just fighting the civil suit could bankrupt it, let alone making an out of court settlement.
And if Billary gets elected, you know she will get the Feds into the mix to garantee that the school dist. Ends up shutting it's doors.

pop-tart kid didn't get any leeway, neither should these gold diggers. F 'em.
Why would the federal government shut down a public school district? The feds will agree to cover the settlement in exchange for union concessions and revised diversity curriculum. And of course boys using the girls bathrooms, just like the President wants it.
Here is the key to this...follow the $...who is funding the legal action?

$2MM is still an awful lot of money for some slighted feelings. Wow. Folks will work their entire life and not earn that honestly.

"Clock boy" loses federal discrimination lawsuit (http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/clock-boy-loses-federal-discrimination-lawsuit/ar-BBBji7r)
Mohamed Mohamed, the student's father, filed a federal lawsuit in August 2016 against the Irving Independent School District (IISD), MacArthur High School principal Daniel Cummings and the city of Irving, Texas, alleging officials violated the boy's civil rights by imposing a 3-day suspension for bringing the clock to school.
On Thursday, Judge Sam Lindsay of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas granted the defendants' motion to dismiss the lawsuit, saying the plaintiffs had failed to prove officials discriminated against Mohamed.
In his ruling, Lindsay dismissed claims against the city and the school district, writing that the court could not "reasonably infer that any IISD employee intentionally discriminated against [Mohamed] based on his race or religion."
He also dismissed the claim against Cummings, the principal, who Mohamed's team said violated his civil rights and treated the boy unfairly. Lindsay wrote the plaintiff's complaint "does not allege that [Cummings] treated [Mohamed] differently than other similarly situated students, and that the unequal treatment was based on religion or race."
Lindsay gave the plaintiffs a deadline of June 1 to file an amended complaint to support the allegations he wrote were "factually deficient." Susan Hutchison, an attorney representing Mohamed, told CBS News they plan to do so.
Maybe Obama can invite the Mohameds to his house again. That should help.

Hah, I doubt Obama is inviting much of anybody now that he has to pay the bill himself. It's incredibly ironic (and yet typical) that Marxists like him are so incredibly greedy and pecuniary.
Besides the point, I would like to add this.
Ever since I was little kid, these stupid science school fair was more like "how your mom and dad are motivated to do shit that average 1st-5th grader cannot build/do"
When I was 5th grade, straight A student came to a science fair in our class with a freaking sound wave detector or even maybe ultra sound with full CRT monitor (it was 80s). Everyone including principal was WOWing on that crazy machine.
I bet she would not even understand any concept of that sound wave graph and yet alone mechanical wave spectrum even when she was in high school.
This shit could've prevented if stupid ambitious father did not build a clock with all these EE lab leftover circuit board and wire.
If the kid just drew a human anatomy or skeleton/muscle chart by himself, this would've been prevented. :D

Are they suing the school district or are they really suing the American taxpayer... The school district officials don't give a s--- as the settlement would not come out of their pockets. It just gives them another reason to increase taxes, because after all, it's for the children.
People seem to have gotten really wound up about this.
