Hello Folks,
Sorry I haven't been around as much as I am during the summer. The school year has started and my classes are bigger and bigger... which is great news. It's been a week or so since I bumped this initially so I'd like to bring it back to the top. If you have the inclination to help out a bunch of snot-nosed bastards, aka "kids", make an educational trip happen to the Disney Recording Studios in LAX, I'd love your support. We are a Title 1 school in the lowest funded district of Colorado (Pueblo County/Rural 70 - https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdefinance/publicschoolfinanceactof1994-fy2016-17). Many of these kids will probably not have this chance once they graduate... (hopefully they WILL though eventually as we try to teach them how to be successful). Anyways, I do not have a huge facebook friends list, so if you wouldn't mind sharing the link, I would greatly appreciate it. If you work with a larger corporation who does donations/sponsorship's for schools, I would LOVE to talk to you. If you need more information that what's listed at the site or any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Disney Recording Studio Workshop Overview:

Instrumental students experience the excitement of a working recording studio, where professional Clinicians present sight-reading techniques, performance concepts, and the entire process for laying down music tracks. Taught by industry composers, arrangers, conductors, or studio musicians, the 90-minute workshop culminates with a reveal of the students' hard work - a screening of their recorded score, set to the original Disney film footage!

During this exciting learning experience students will:

- Perform on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
- Read and notate music.
- Listen to, analyze and describe music.
- Evaluate music and musical performances.
- Gain an understanding of the relationships between music, other arts and disciplines outside the arts.
- Examine music in relation to history and culture.
National Core Arts Standards Disney Performing Arts Workshops fulfill many of the standards set forth in the National Core Arts Standards in which students create, perform, respond, and connect.

Sidenote: For my Appleseed Project this year in March - I'm working on getting The Old Guard to come down and do a presentation/Concert. Oh Yeah!!!
