View Full Version : Rough day
On Saturday a very good friend of mine lost his daughter, she was hit by a train while walking near the track. They are devastated with so many questions. Hug your kids every day if you can, always tell them you love them.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Praying for them.
My boys get tired of me telling them I love them but life can go so fast.

:(
I've witnessed people getting hit by trains. In my profession, it's inevitable. It's sad and unfortunate. Prayers to the family.
Oh, no. My heart goes out to your friend and his family, and to you as well. How awful.

Terrible for the family. However, i've never understood how people get hit by trains.

Payers to you and your friends family.
I lost a friend similarly about 25 years ago. Tragic and senseless.
Thank you for the kind words. No closer to getting any answers. This was a shortcut she used to go to a part-time job, also a college student, and they've lived there a long time.

Newspaper article said the person was wearing earbuds. I quit listening to the radio in the car because I can't hear what is going on around me. If I learned anything from military service it was "situational awareness".

Not paying attention ?
With as much noise and vibration freight trains make it's crazy that this stuff happens. Too many questions.

Walking near the tracks, if you are too close the train can literally suck you under. It happens. I lived near the tracks until I was 19. I have seen too many tragedies, most of them to friends.
My condolences to the family.
