I wanting to pick up another C&R. I haven't handled either of them just want one to have it you know. Which one would you guys get? Which might be worth more down the road?

Neither would be worth more, unless there's a specific buyer looking. The big question is. What has the more affordable ammo.

I've always had a soft spot for the K31. The ammo sellers are real proud of their product.

I like the k31s but can't find them in stock. I honestly don't see me shooting it that much just something to get out fondle and put away haha.

Do you reload? The Swiss will use standard 308 bullets, as opposed to (probably) 0.311 specialty bullets for the Mosin.

Not as of now I haven't set anything up since I moved back from pueblo.

I picked up a minty M39 last year and love it. It is way accurate than any of my other mosins with the same ammo and is more pleasant to shoot.

I've handled and shot both; own a K31. The Finnish M39 I shot was definitely accurate (we were shooting steel silhouette targets between 50 to 200 meters) and felt far less "rough" than other Mosins I've handled, but the K31 is more accurate and nicer still. I snagged one at a Tanner show last year and bought 420 rounds of GP11. Unfortunately it didn't have the original owner's card in the buttstock. The only time I took it to the range it was a joy to shoot. My first group of five shots was just over three inches at about 160-170 yards (the LRF was being a butt).

They're both fantastic guns, I like the K31 much more, but I can see slavo- or finniphiles preferring the Mosin.

EDIT: Oh boy I'm a dummy, I just saw you were trying to pick up a K1911. From what I understand they are not quite as preferable (I owned a Schmidt-Rubin 1911 as well but not a K1911) but still great carbines.

I would say the m39 might be worth a little more in the future the 1911 isn't the same as a k31 the 1911 is a fine rifle but has a longer receiver and bolt and is thought of as "not as strong" as a k31. Either would be a great purchase but I prefer the m39 though maybe because I have one other fin mosins with fin barrels are generally 308 diameter grooves though the m39 is generally .310 groove but my best accuracy loading came from pulled m118sb 174gr bullets and not sierra mk 174gr .311 bullets but every rifle is different.
