View Full Version : Landscapers Needed
I'm looking for recommendations for landscapers in the metro area. We're not looking for any special hooks-up--just quality work for a fair price. Specifically we want concrete work, sod and a sprinkler system. We've called three places and no one wants to call us back. We live on the North side of town off I-25 and 136th if that makes any difference. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I feel your pain with this.. I've been in the same boat all year. Either they want a stupid amount of $$$ which to me says they don't want the job, or they don't call back.
Yeah, I tried recommending someone but they never returned the calls. Good luck.

I did appreciate that Dave, but yeah.. phone calls never returned.
Seriously, wait till October. Their business drops off big time around then and you will get it for half of what they quote right now. There is a guy around here that owns a landscaping company and the dude has a Ferrari and a 911 in front of his house every day. The rest of his toys in the garage look fun too. I do kind of feel sorry for his workers though, he makes a ton of money off of them but he is the guy that took the risk to make the company so more power to him.

Zero temptation to go the DIY route?

Yeah, you're welcome. He's normally good on that so I don't know what happened. Too much business for landscapers these days, I suppose. I just hate when I give a name and they don't follow up. Egg on my face.

having just had a project completed, I can say something about waiting till the fall. Don't. Landscapers, or at least the good and honest ones, are booking jobs throughout the year. Get in their que to have the job started. My landscaper can't start new projects till early spring 2017. Maybe sooner if the weather is not bad in oct, nov. then again good in March April. I got on his books early August 2015 and the job was starts June 2016. If somebody says they have plenty of time and can get started right away, be very sceptical. The market for these services is in very high demand and the good companies should be booked till spring. Just my experience.
I would recommend my guy (who is amazing and finished early) but he is no longer doing jobs any further north than Arvada now.

Everything in the trades industry is slammed right now. Good luck getting any one to call you back or look at a job.

October, the earliest, if that.

Not right now. I just don't have the time, or the expertise. I might be more tempted in the spring.

It happens.
