Just reading up on the efforts of the volunteers. Ain't it funny how us redneck folks don't sit around waiting for help, instead we make our own way. Don't know how to link from my phone, but basically every redneck with a boat has been heading down to help, and not even taking their entourage and camera crew like ol Sean Penn did.

Also sitting here wondering if the lackluster response of the feds and our benevolent leader not bothering to interrupt his golf game will inspire another telethon. Maybe Kanye will blurt out how "O×@#a hates black people"

Best part about that telethon was Mike Myers face. The reaction was priceless.

Sounds like everything is going to be just fine down there. You know, since there are a shit ton of coon asses down there and I bet darn near every one of them owns a boat.

Not sure WTF you're talking about but it sounds like the Cajun Navy is doing what any neighbor would do...help the neighbors. Coon ass or cracker, when they need help, they need help.

During the Cold Springs Fire, I helped people I wasn't too fond of. Why, because they needed help.

Actually, that's exactly my point. I was meaning to praise those types of people who come to the aid of others with no personal goals of fame or recognition. My point may have been lost because I was reminded of all the a holes in the past and present who do nothing to contribute to the common good.

Or more simply put, God bless those Cajun Navy folks.

Also I was meaning to just once again point out the liberal double standard. Not a conservative president, so obviously not his fault.

Ok, nevermind. Sounded like the Cajun Navy was don' their part.

And an aside, nothing is "this president's" fault. Scrub got raked over the coals but crickets for the current admin.

I don't think you're familiar with the term "coon-ass" and its context. Cajuns in LA will refer to themselves as "coon-ass". The people that get offended by the term usually aren't one or don't know one.

I have these mental visualizations of the "Cajun Navy" showing up in pirogues..."we here...but we ain't got no room for you."

The "founder" or what ever his title is was on the radio this a.m. Said it took a few to realize only flat bottom boats worked. Those V-Hulls were getting stuck in the mud and other items.

It went from small start up helping people to a large scale operation. Interesting how hard they've worked without rest & sleep. Yet so little is being reported about them. Must be that racist cajun term folks ain't a hankerin to.

Thankfully we have the BLM to keep the peace in urbantown USA.

Familiar with many terms. Coon ass ain't derogatory to me. Maybe to those that need safe spaces...

Yeah, you can get a cheap aluminum flat-bottomed 'jon boat' just about anywhere. Just have to watch out for your prop.

The liberal media wants us all to believe that only the great State can save us from peril, therefore, no reporting. Neighbor helping neighbor is frowned upon. Dependence on the State is reinforced.

But I'll be damned if folks weren't outraged over the Presidential response during Katrina, double standard? Naaaaah [sarcasm]

Indeed!

I keep having a mental picture of folks from Swamp People going out and saying "Just push that dang-o gata outta da way and hop in da boat, friend."

Michael Brown was criticizing all these people saying how Obama should be down there, and I agree. He doesn't need to go down there, but he does need to get on TV, ya know, like he loves to do, and reassure the people of LA that they're doing all they can.

Why, there's no riots he can quietly support.

USA Today: Louisiana flooding is worst disaster since Sandy, but people aren’t talking about it (http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/louisiana-flooding-is-worst-disaster-since-sandy-but-people-aren%E2%80%99t-talking-about-it/ar-BBvMt0B?li=BBnbcA1)

Lots of excuses, but I call shenanigans that the MSM is trying to pass the word but Americans just aren't listening.

Sandy Hook was an atrocity, carried out by a useless piece of shiat.

LA flood 2016 is tragedy. Sad that no one is following it.

I believe they meant Hurricane Sandy...

NPR has had more than one story today about the LA flooding, one of which was about how Trump went down there today while Obama was golfing.
