Thanks for all the help today. Nearly 60 showed up in the cool weather. A couple small showers was all the weather we had.

Yesterday's match included the most challenging and fun stages I've seen yet. I've missed the past two matches, and am very happy I didn't miss yesterday's. The stages weren't all that easy to set up, but it was worth the effort.

While the match was a huge disappointment for me from a shooting standpoint-it seemed I did just about everything wrong-it sure gives me a lot of material to work with for future practice, to understate it.

Maybe it's my age or just something else, but I find I have a serious problem with what feels like an overwhelming number of things to think about. Stage 4, in particular, was by the worst in this regard. I wonder if anyone else has this problem.

I tried to think 'tactical sequence', tried to remember which targets I actually shot at, and tried to remember how many rounds were left in the mag. On top of 'all that', I tried to remember to move. Compounding the problems were a series of what I think were magazine failures--jimmied up mags that apparently wouldn't feed properly.

I THOUGHT I had learned tap-and-rack pretty well to clear a jam, but no...have not actually learned it. Repeated commands of 'Slide!' just highlighted the fact I was genuinely overloaded. Add in the bifocals and my failure to actually remember to use them, and I was pretty much guessing, with the expected dismal outcome.

Anyway, it sure beat having to move furniture, but I'm still a bit shook up over the whole thing. And looking forward to the next match.

It was definitely a rough day. Large stages are certainly more of a "concentrate" shoot, than the smaller ones.

A huge thanks to all that showed up to help set up and stay after to tear down. That is a great deal of work that can not be accomplished with 3 or 4 people.

I just now realized I don't really know what 'HNS' is...is this shots fired in excess of shots scored? Shots with No Hits, in other words? This is the first match where I had any of these (and I had plenty) so it was never a concern before. :)
