There title, not mine.

This is a "light" explanation of how bad it is up here. Glad to see Fire Chief Dirr adding some perspective.

I feel for people that are truly homeless and down on their luck, God help them. Life shits unfairly on a lot of people.

But the damned "travelers", the friggin' unwashed dreadlocked hippie druggie bums who believe society's rules don't apply to them, yet also believe they're entitled to all the free shit they want - THOSE assholes can get ass-raped and eaten by bears for all I care.

Nom nom nom, eat 'em up Yogi. I hear patchouli makes them spicier, and when they're stoned they're easier to catch!

Yea, the current migration of maryjane tourists into the mountains of Boulder County is a redo of what happened in the early '70s, with hippy encampments around Ned, Sunshine, Ward and Jimtown. In public and private land meadows, side canyons and old mine sites the new urban hillbillies pitched camps, trashed and crapped their places with no respect or regard for the land, plants or animals. Part of the result back then was the repopulation and resurgence of Nederland, Ward and Rollinsville as communities. I wonder what will result from this long term, probably more destructive urbanization, but the onset of winter will cull many of the unfit for now.

What cracks me up is the obvious hipocracy of the Earth loving, filthy hippies trashing the very Earth they reside on, illegaly by the way. Sometimes burning it to the ground. [facepalm]

I was in the Springs yesterday getting gas and some moron was giving them money. Falling for the whole empty gas can thing. "We're trying to get to California where our friend got arrested..."

If you truly need help, why are you hiding in the mountains? While the mountains are nice they don’t provide much sustenance. I don’t think anybody is going to drive up there and search for you just to help you or give you a job. Winter can’t get here soon enough for me, and I work outside.

I've recently noticed a decent amount of people living in their vehicles down the street from my house. I never noticed before because they don't bother people. I think they are working and just living in their cars.

Probably can't afford housing, I can barely afford it and I make good money (by US standards, not Denver standards).

I have seen a lot of cars that look like people living in them. Usually at the Walmart parking lot, then I guess they go to the National Forest. I guess its safer than the big cities.

This is what happens when useless people find out pot's legal here ... they move here without any job prospects and then discover that Colorado ain't cheap so they live in their cars.

If 69 passes, Just think how bad its going to be when the word gets out that you get free health care here too (you know med mj will somehow be covered).

I was returning a rental car in Boulder a few days ago. I avoid that shit hole like the plague, but that's where I found the cheapest rental.

Of course I had to bring the car back full of gas. Before I even got out of the car at the gas station some social leech was asking for money. My response was just, "No". Then he went straight toward my wife who was following me. I told him "she can't help either".

They're like mosquitoes, just dive bombing everyone.
