Good evening......so I need some help or advice on installing a free float handguard on a bull barreled ar15 it seems I need a barrel nut with 1.050 internal diameter and most handguard barrel nuts are around 1 inch or so, I have done research and some folks machine out the id of the barrel nut 1.050 my question is are there any free float handguards available with a larger id or is it safe to machine out the barrel nut to fit......thanks in advance

How big a diameter bbl you have? .950 bbls fit in a standard 1" nut. The bbl isn't larger than the bbl extension.

The diameter at the muzzle is .924 then is steps up to 1.047 past the gas block shoulder all the way to where the current barrel nut is the id of the new barrel nut is 1.036 so it won't slide past the gas block shoulder
