So this week I've been taking Check Point firewall training through a company called Cloud Harmonics. The one thing though, Check Point didn't get us the books and such prior to the class. The instructor has been fantastic though, manually walking us through all the lab work, giving us an even better experience.
Yesterday, after still not finding the books on our doorstep, our instructor was finally able to find out what happened. He then called his manager to get it straightened out. Apparently, since Check Point is in the middle of changing out how they're sent, our orders got dropped from the old system but not added to the new one.
Within just a few minutes the manager decided on what to do, and not only getting us the new versions of the books, they are giving us a second week of the class for free, plus plenty of time to go over anything else we want to learn about. I'm taking the administrator and engineer parts. The other guy in the class could only get his boss to pay for the administrator part, so they're giving him the engineer class for free.
I know there's a lot of IT folks here on the forum, so let me say this: If you can, use Cloud Harmonics as your training vendor. http://cloudharmonics.com. It also helps that my current instructor is a thousand yard shooter, so we've got lots to talk about during the slow times!
