This here is a GREAT museum! In OKC, 45th Infantry Division. Fookin' awesome. http://45thdivisionmuseum.com This place alone is worth making a trip to OKC.

Sad to say I've spent many days and nights at the truck stop across I-80 and at the the Walmart waiting for IBP loads out of Lexington back in the day. I regret never making the effort to go to the museum. I'm heading to MI this fall on my time so I hope to stop then.
The museum was started by four rancher/farmer/military enthusiasts who had been restoring their MV projects and driving them in local parades. They got together and opened this place up.
They said quite a few of these vehicles were found and rescued within a 150 mile radius of Lexington (Nebraska). After the War, contractors, farmers and ranchers could pick-up surplus vehicles cheap. When they conked out or better came along, they just parked them. These two pictures are great examples of farm modifications to a halftrack. This has SteamPunk written all over it!66848

I'm thinking you could spend a day in that place, thanks for the link. Lots of great museums out there that you just don't hear about.
I've driven past the place dozens of times. Always wanted to stop but never did. I was usually going to or from work so never really had the time.

Drove by it the other day and wondered if it was worth a stop

Yeah, it's a bitchin' museum, it really is! Another great one is the J.M.Davis Arms and Historical Museum in Claremore, OK. And the U.S.Army Ordnance Museum in Aberdeen, MD will blow your mind.
I want to see the WWII Museum in New Orleans, I think it is. I'd be happy as a clam just cruising the country and visiting museums! Not into art museums much, but pretty much everything else.
