OK.. So a female friend of mine and her father took a concealed carry class a few years ago, got their licenses, had a family friend show them how to shoot a bit and at some point they both bought handguns together. I haven't gotten the whole story but somehow (whether it was the friend or a gunshop owner) they both ended up purchasing S&W 617s together.. A .22LR revolver with a 6 inch barrel for concealed carry. [facepalm]

I've taken her shooting a few times and now she knows a bit better and wants a real handgun. Took her to a couple ranges that rent and had her try dozens of different models and she is down to a Glock 19 or 34 with the 34 being the obvious better concealment gun but the 19 being a little easier for her to shoot.

In the end.. I know she paid a lot for the S&W.. Is there a market for a slightly used S&W .22 revolver? She has the case and all of the accessories and the gun is in near new condition. I told her she might just be better off keeping it if she has to take a bit hit on it $$ wise.

What she has:

There is a marked for the 617's, they are well respected. Is it a 10 shot?

The 34 is a long slide gun, is that really what she wants? Or did you mean the 43?

Sorry, meant 43.. Yeah, big difference. :)

6 inch, 10 shot on the S&W.. Is a fun gun to shoot, it's so heavy that there is zero recoil, not too practical though.

~$500 if you find the right private buyer.

That sort of pistol might sell on consignment at a busy shop but that will eat into your money back (15% usualy)

Gunbroker is probably your best bet. While it is an outstanding revolver, it is a gun for a specific buyer.
