As much as I disagree with Democrats and their policies, particularly regarding firearms, I must admit that this is a really good campaign ad.

I don't trust the guy. He's just playing an angle to further his career. If he's sided with the left he'll likely support their agenda even if he doesn't agree with it.

The problem with so-called "pro gun" Democrats is that when they win elections they empower the Democrat party as a whole, which is 110% anti gun.

His R opponent's reply and ad are much better. Basically said, as much as he admires his opponents military service. His stand on guns is deplorable.
I don't trust anyone who unnecessarily removes their optic for a basic field strip.
Where's the opponent's reply?

I agree with all of the responses here in regards to not trusting the guy, but you have to admit he came up with an interesting and unique campaing ad.
Bottom line though, as you all have pointed out, is this guy is a Democrat and even in this ad he indicates anti-2nd Amendment beliefs for the sake of "security" ("to keep these guns out of the hands of terrorists"; standard Democrat rhetoric).

Exactly. If I've said it once, I've said it 1000 times. There's no such thing as a pro-gun democrat. And this ^^ is why.
They may own guns, they may use guns, they may be ex-military. What they aren't is pro-gun.
There really is no "pro-gun" or "anti-gun".
You either support and uphold the constitution or you don't. The "anti-gun" crowd just doesn't believe in or support the principles that founded our nation.
Borders on treason if you ask me.

I don't know if anyone told him or not, but it is his party that is responsible for arming mexican drug cartels with wide open borders and arming terrorists. Oh, and not to mention that it is his party along with globalist RINOs that have enbraced the UN programs to resettle "refugees" linked to terror groups into our neighborhoods.
Screw that guy for using his mil service as a campaign tool to advocate for gun control. Wouldn't be surprised if his ad was bought and paid for by bloomberg and company.

Spot on. Couldnt give two shits if he was in the military or not. John Kerry was in the military. So was Jimmy Carter. A significant portion (albeit a minority) of the military will vote for HRC.
He's a democrat, and that means he's the enemy of freedom

Exactly. A lot of it is problem- reaction- solution. The politicians create the problems then offer the solution to the the problems they keep creating and it is always to take away rights and freedoms. I would point out there has been background checks for more than two decades and this crap stick gun grabber tries to pass himself off as a patriot because he learned to strip an M4/16 blindfolded in the Army. Give me a f------ break. This guy is campaigning to the sheeple and the uninformed/fudd voter.

I'll also put it like this since we've had background checks for over two decades when purchasing firearms.
What kind of background checks is he proposing?
I mean afterall isn't the NSA and islamist penetrated DHS spying on every American in all those fusion centers being done to keep us safe from the terrorists along with a giant police state surveillance apparatus complete with a standing police army. I thought that the brady bill was the end all solution and the patriot act along with the NDAA and the countless unconstitutional executive orders were keeping us safer from the terrorists.
Aren't we safer today than we were prior to 9/11 or are we still under attack and by a government that continues to build a police state and take our freedoms in the name of safety and security and where everything we do is tracked, monitored, logged and spyed on...
Or maybe jason kander considers Americans who are outspoken and critical of unconstitutional illegitimate government the terrorists. Maybe he seeks to base his background checks off of the old soviet model to disable political dissident.
Or maybe he doesn't understand the issues at all and is not fit for corporate office, I mean public office
The emperor has no cloths..

He's proposing universal background checks, in other words the regulation (if not outright banning) of private sales of firearms ... like we have here in CO now.
And its working, there are at least 3 guns that I would absolutely have bought here in our trading post if I didn't have to do a BGC for them (mostly because I don't want to drive all the way up to Denver just to sit at an FFL for God-knows-how-long and risk the possibility of false rejection or delay my BGC which would mean a second trip up to Denver and then back several days later. I've bought several guns from members up in Denver where I drove up, we met in a parking lot, I bought the gun cash-and-carry and headed back home ... 10-15min tops).
