For $730 shipped that is not a bad deal at all. If I had the cash I would add one to my meager collection.

Not a bad deal at all! I wonder if they still have any of the Greek ammo left? I have to poke around there site to see.

Yes, they have the Greek at $136 for 200 rounds. It looks like they are out of the 192 round bandoleer spam cans though.

I don't keep up with the CMP much anymore due to a lack of play money, but they appear to be running out of Garands. If you want one, this may be the last hurrah.

I want another, but the wife says NFW. I'd want to pick one out in person too, and the trip would more than double the cost.

Per the newly completed and signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. Army and the Civilian Marksmanship Program, M1 Garands will be limited to eight per calendar year, per customer. The new limit of eight M1 Garands goes into effect immediately and any customer who has purchased over eight will not be allowed to purchase more M1 Garands until 1 Jan., 2017. The CMP considers any item containing an M1 Garand receiver with a serial number to be an M1 Garand and will deduct from the eight M1 Garand rifle limit per year

I looked in on the CMP today and they are now sold out of service grade M1 rifles. They still have the more expensive M1D and C models.

I've been thinking about putting an order in for the Special grade Winchester.

From what it looks like on the CMP Forum, Service Grades are expected to come back in around 6 months out. At least that's what guys got for feedback on orders they placed earlier in the month when rifles were still available.
