I just received the following email from our security dept.
Opting out only removes some of the data, but it is better than leaving it out there on a web site.

I have recently been informed that several states (listed below) have released voter records to www.voterrecords.com (http://www.voterrecords.com). This site collects voter registration information and publicizes the information identified below. To reduce the amount of personal information this site displays about you, and any of your family members that are registered voters, use the following steps:

1. Search for your name on the website.
2. If found, click on your name.
3. Scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the “Record Opt-Out” link (very bottom right).
4. On this page fill out the form to the left and click “submit opt-out”

States releasing voter records: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, Washington

Publicized Information
· Name
· Date of birth
· Home address
· Year registered to vote at that address
· Others at that address.
· Possible previous addresses

Weird. I opted out 2 years ago and my stuff was still there. Opted out... again.

This, unfortunately is not the only website like this. The below link has been in operation since 2013. There is even a handy link where shit heads can download the entire voter registration record for their personal use.

Add another one to the list, but they don't give you the option to opt-out: https://coloradoresidentdb.com/

Same here. I'm wondering if everytime they pull an updated feed, it overwrites existing data.

What's even worse is truepeoplesearch.com

Some of the info isn't accurate, but a lot is depending on the person.

Probably. Our info is still there.

I've been looking up how much taxes are owed on a house I'm possibly interested in purchasing. Looking at how much people owe (in taxes) on all their properties feels creepy.
