you can't make this shit up... heard about this on the radio, as something inspired by "Charles Edward Cheese"
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/09/26/in-growing-trend-colleges-offer-ball-pits-for-students-seeking-emotional-satefy.html
now how many of these are serious about it, and how many are underhandedly saying "you want to act like fucking children, ok- we'll treat you like fucking children"
Bonus points if you get the name reference in the 1st sentence..
What is "emotional satefy" <sic>?
Is this Nathan Dunlop approved?
Chuck E. Cheese and their rebranding to being more adult friendly?
Colleges aren't preparing their students for living in the grown-up world. Might as well prepare them to be sniveling dependents looking for a caretaker.

No, this may be perfect.
I recall hearing a news gig on how unhealthy ball pits are. Maybe all the snowflakes will get sick and die.

I overheard a conversation between a couple of professors 15 years ago or so about how high schools have not prepared students for college.

When I was in college, we played "Assassin" with water guns, water balloons (grenades), and watch alarms (time bombs). These special snowflakes need a ball pit? Really? Go back to grade school, you're not ready for high school, much less college.

Dude, I can't even imagine being in this "protected" all the time.
Man, I went to College at Oneonta, NY (a wicked ass party school at the time - rated very highly as a good "Party" school back then by Playboy and was was #1 by Playboy a few years earlier, or so the story goes - not that I'm proud of that or anything.....LOL). This was in '88. Honestly, I never looked that shit up. Didn't have too. We had WAY too much fun.
Anyway, I brought my shotgun into my room and stashed it under my bed as a freshman and nobody took a second look (as did many other kids). It stayed under there until hunting season, then I'd get a "going hunting?" question when i walked out all dressed in cammo and carrying a shotgun. "Yep, wish me luck....."
Things sure have changed.
Now - holy fucking shit!
Can we build scary fences around the ball pits to keep them in?
When I went to college, it was a place to grow, a place for new ideas, a place to shed the past. Never was it a place to coddle immature halfwits and toe headed thumb suckers.
Guess I am getting old. [blaster]

Can't have any contrarian ideas getting in the way of the programming these days.

Aren't we all. It's kinda scary what my daughter will have to deal with when she's older (she's almost 4). I just have to do my best to raise her right, teach her what I know and be a good dad. Beyond that it's up to her. Yep, pretty scary (scary for me FOR HER, not me).

Oh Hell, does that mean I'm getting banned?

Can we build scary fences walls around the ball pits and fill them with water to keep them in?
There. That's better.

Make the ball pit inhabitants pay for it too!
This generation is going to be mostly dysfunctional. They will spend more time tearing each other down (hurt feels) than producing anything of value. That trend is creeping into business/tech too. The culture is such that talent comes second to PC feels.
Then you have the few that are going to kick ass because they haven't bought into the BS while taking advantage of opportunity. I feel bad for them now but they are going to do very well if the pendulum shifts back to objectivity.

We've talked about a "safe space" thread on the forum for a long time....in case your feelings get hurt.
If it's created I vote we call it "The Ball Pit".
