Why do you use magpul? So I got asked a question today that I didn't have a good answer for other than the quality and magpul is what I'm comfortable with. Why does everyone else use magpul?

They took the use of plastics to a new level in the industry, they're always coming out with new products, expanding into other platforms and the majority of the products are manufactured in Co along the Front Range.

variety of products, and the expansion across different platforms. They now are into rifles, glocks, AK's, and of course the AR. They are starting to get big into soft-goods too, but be careful, they run a little small. I normally would get 32 pants, but need a 34 from them, same with shirts... 1 size larger with the couple that I have.

Quality and value.

My guns aren't battle rattle - the hardest use they've generally seen is having to mortar a rifle or two for a stuck cartridge - but never an issue with one single piece of their gear.

Didn't they move all their manufacturing out of Colorado after the mag ban?

Because I used to be able to walk into their office and be greeted by someone, sometimes an engineer/creator, and order any/all of their products on the menu. Magpul "was" a local business. Thanks, Assholes, for loosing a great CO company. [fyou][Mad]

Their pride in workmanship and products is shown in the products themselves, and not the price. They offer a variety of items which allow a customization which is not found in another single brand. etc.

Sure would help if people would clarify.

From my understanding, Magpul DID move some manufacturing out of State, but they do still retain some offices here in Colorado.

From everything I have seen and read they moved manufacturing to Wyoming and corporate headquarters to Texas. They no longer have a Colorado address thats for sure.

I don't think it really matters if they moved out. I also would trust Hoser, he knows more than most.

I like Magpul because they are cool and make me feel super tactical.

All kidding aside, their products are usually pretty darn nice and for a reasonable price.
Did I mention the Magpul Calendars?

Manufacturing is in WY. I've ordered stuff and that is where it shipped from.

Some R&D. IIRC : NDA's cover everything else.

The majority of their product is being produced on the Front Range north of Denver. Corporate and distribution is now out of state.

Product is shipped from suppliers to Cheyenne then shipped from Cheyenne for distribution.

They said they moved 92% of the company out of state so a few people left here for R&D, I can believe that. As far as manufacturing of product (other then a prototype) I would have to see proof before I believe that.

By the way, I love magpul products, not knocking them in any way, was just disputing claims that they are still here (in mass) because that is not what magpul claims or at least wants us to think.

Why are they telling us different then? Guess it kind of makes them look bad that they claimed to have left the state (other then 8% of the company that they claim)?

Many companies mfr in states other than were they're located, it's very common for a variety of reasons.
It doesn't make them look bad, if anything I give them credit for continuing to mfr in Co which creates jobs and Co doesn't get the tax revenue from the sales of the product they distribute.

My point is during the mag ban they were forefront waving the flag and saying that they would leave Colorado if it passed (and I appreciated that). They even have press releases saying that they did leave the state after the ban passed and that only about 8% of the company remains in Colorado. But from what I am hearing a few folks saying is that very little actually went out of state after all?

Just find it interesting that what they claimed to have done and what they actually did could be much different?

They did leave Co, moved corporate and distribution.
The mfg is done by vendors/suppliers not "in-house" which is very common practice.

They did leave Colorado, they left Colorado in the sense of, they took their money (tax dollars) out of Colorado. Money is what greedy politicians care about, and Magpul stuck it to the greedy Democrat politicians. That is what Magpul was talking about by "leaving", perhaps you misunderstood them.

I like Magpul products because they are a great balance of strong, durable, useful, affordable, functional, lightweight, and sexy. And they are a great American company that strongly supports American ideals. Remember the boulder airlift? Remember how they put Colorado customers at the top of their ordering que when the magazine limitation law passed?

Yes, I'm a Magpul fan.

My wife worked for them briefly here in Cheyenne. They might make a decent product, but they treat their employees like shit. Her and several other people walked out of that place because of the way they were treated. She was hired through a temp agency, and Magpul promised that after 90 days, she would become a full Magpul employee with full benefits. 6 months later, she was told that was never going to happen, and she was and always would be a temp. She wasn't the only one told that by management. She couldn't even buy me a gift from there because it wasn't "for her personal use".

I heard of a land, where gun's do roam
And magazines a plenty
Those freemen to the north of us
Have a round count 10+20
They deal with winds that other men
Would simply not abide
And now here on the internet
Their southern brothers chide
Oh!, to have a monopod, which holds the pills of justice
and spits them out the open end
Like some sort of dream-like gun pertussis
Whoop Whoop!, Whoop Whoop!
We all would cry
With tears of joy a'flowing
Instead of private knowledge, and a public line we're toeing

I've been asked the same question several times, but after the first I had to put some thought into it. My answer now is that they make a great product that is innovative and affordable, with great customer service that backs there product. Is use and abuse the shit our of my gear so stay with company's that back their products.

All of Magpul’s existing Colorado facilities will close during the first quarter of 2015. Magpul will open a single administrative location in Colorado to support the relocation and this site will then serve as a regional support office. - See more at: https://www.magpul.com/propaganda/magpul-is-moving#sthash.MgRLRVZV.dpuf

I like magpul because they force the rest of the industry to innovate. More often than not I buy something that was pioneered by Magpul but manufactured by someone else because it fits me better. The Magpul stuff I do have I really like though.
