Need some smith recomendations

Talked to BPTactical today, and he's hanging up the lathe until/when/if this itAR stuff blows over, so lets hear your your favorite smiths for barrel cutting, crowning and of course some 1911 tuning.
I'm mostly interested in the Denver area, but we have forum members from all over so just post away. Lets hear about your favorite smiths and where they're located.

I need to do some work on palmeto ar-10 ( bolt stuck) and
install trijicon hd on xds 9mm

My feedback on Andys Custom Guns:

I left my 1911 with him due to a hammer follow issue.
Nice guy, but likes to talk. Don't plan on a quick visit.
Lots of new scratches on my Colt slide that wern't there on drop off. He did an excellent job with the trigger but did exactly what I told him not to. I asked him to reuse my standard Commander hammer or replace it with the same style. He didn't. He likes this squished style commander type hammer. Ugly as sin to me, and that's what I got.
And to top it all off, his final bill was double his original quote.

What was his response when you pointed out the scratches and the failure to follow your direction on the hammer? And that his bill was double?

We talked, He shrugged off the scratches. He found fault with all the hammers I could dream up, Ed Brown, Wilson, Colt... I couldn't comment intelligently about porous metals and why those brands of hammers are crap. It was a rambling conversation. I paid and was disappointed. Another learning experience.

So very sorry to hear Robb.
While it may unable to use your existing hammer for various reasons there is certainly no excuse for not respecting your wishes to retain a similar style with a quality aftermarket one.
The scratches are inexcusable, the entire point of the craft is for the firearm to leave ones shop in better condition than it arrived in.
I'm curious what brand of hammer he used. I prefer Ed Brown Hardcore almost exclusively, they are EDM cut from barstock tool steel and very stable dimensionally.
