Paying close attention to this one, we grew up spending a fair amount of time in Beulah, between going to summer camp and their annual street festival.
Not to high jack this thread, but what is on fire just Northeast of Denver right now? Not quite to DIA, I'd say Commerce City.
Yeah, this is impacting a lot of kids at my school.... not a fun time... could use some prayers for these guys. The friggin' wind ain't helping either. Blew out the power here yesterday.

I saw that as trucks were screaming out of town. I just did the brakes in the truck and smelled something and though "oh shit, I f-ed something up" then I came to HWY 72 & 119 (Rollinsville side) and saw the smoke.
Good on our fire crews. They kick ass.
The official/unofficial report is that the fire started at/next to a campsite. No asshats were in the vicinity. Go figure...

We were told at evac meeting fire was started by an electric line that fell in high wind.
Fire is about 1 mile west of my house.
We were really nervous Monday night when the wind came up, but I think the wind blew so hard that it actually blew a lot of the fire out.
I think we are good now as long as wind doesn't come up again.
Crossing fingers for ya Tmjohnson. Have they deployed the slurry bombers?

The aircraft are staying on the north and west side of the fire, which is up by Beulah. That is more forested than over on the east side where it is grass and pinon.
The fire is laying pretty low this morning. If the wind doesn't come up I think they will get it contained at least on the east and south side.
At least the air is clearer here this morn too.
