Recently purchased another M&P midsize pistol to give to daughter.
Did not fire it before having the Shootin Den install an Apex Tactical trigger and different sights.
Took firearm out and having a couple FTF's with no concestancy.
Cleaned firearm again and this time when I go out I thought aout switching some parts from a known performing firearm of the same kind.
First thought about switching complete slide ass., Then just recoil spring ass, then just the side and then the barrel.
Is this an acceptable way of testing?

Thanks
Roger

Personally I'd return it back to factory form and go from there. I made the same mistake of upgrading before firing, and had a similar experience, never again will I upgrade any part of the firing mechanism of a gun before testing the factory assembly.

Do't have a problem sending to factory. will they replace my custom trigger back to factory? Will they return custom triger to me? Will they honestly tell me if trigger was the issue?
Thanks

Find out of the pistol is older or newer. Older versions have a smaller hole for the sear spring. As a result, the factory spring is used, which is not strong enough with the new parts and causes the pistol to dead trigger. I'll try to find my thread about the issue.

Here it is. I had to get an updated sear for mine. Might not be your issue, but thought I'd throw it out there.

If you're feeling froggy, you could always tear your pistol down and look and see the size of the sear housing block spring hole, before you start ordering parts. Let us know.

Put stock components back. Get RMA from S&W, let them deal with it.

I would start with the cheapest/simplest items and go from there, different source of ammo, different mags. Your idea of swapping in different parts from a known functional pistol wouldn't cost you anything, and may narrow down your issue. I still say return the pistol to factory configuration and go from there. Perhaps the folks who installed the trigger would be willing to help you out. Good luck, a non functioning brand new pistol can sure be frustrating.
