View Full Version : Is this a C17 dropping fire retardant on Beulah?
I realize that the other plane was a safe distance ahead to lead the big guy, but the angle and lens make it looks close.

Haven't seen the 747 in any pictures, but I know I saw it sitting on the ground at COS recently.

Sure looks like one. I can't tell if it has the little winglets at the tip of the wing, if so it's a C-17 for sure.
I don't believe there are any C-17's that have been converted for firefighting missions. I believe what you are looking at is a BAE 146, likely operated by Neptune avaiation.
Bae 146. It's a 4 engine regional jet. Pretty good stand in for a C17 from that angle though but waaaay smaller.
I believe that's not retardant, it's actually pepper spray utilized to make the hippies flee the mountains. My source is credible, from a town called southpark. The guy really busted his balls to get me the info. As for the plane, I'll have to defer to people with more experience.
With your knowledge of retardant, and our knowledge of aircraft we are pretty much unstoppable. The future is in trouble.......

So...you're saying it's an Avro RJ85 AT, an improved version of the BAe 146.
