I've got somewhere over 4500 rounds thru my Ruger SR9c. It's been running great, no malfunctions at all in the last 1000+ rounds, but I wonder if I should plan to replace the recoil spring assembly soon just based on round count.
Have you done the test to see if it will go into battery correctly when held vertically?
Basically you hold the gun vertically, pull the slide back, and slowly ride the slide forward until the last 1/4-1/2" or so (measurement is a guess on my part), if it still returns all the way to battery, spring should be okay.
My personal rule is every 10,000 rounds my serious tools get new springs. All of the springs. Not just a recoil spring. Range toys are run until they start malfunctioning and repairs are made as needed.
Been quite a few years since I've had to replace any springs. Just don't seem to have the time to shoot as much as I used to.
