Have any of you had your concrete lifted? Parts of my driveway and walkway look like they went through an earthquake. None of it is broken but the different sections are pretty messed up. Does it work? Does it last? Is it cost effective? Alternatives? Any other pros or cons I should be aware of?

Yeah, had our patio done several years ago, it was sunk 3-4 inches in one corner. Worked pretty slick, didn't take him long - one guy did it. Seems to have lasted fine so far. I don't recall what it cost or who did it, but I won't say it was cheap. It might be a good option for you.

Parents had their back patio mud jacked. Worked pretty well.

I'd be interested to know how much it cost to raise a portion of a sagging patio.

I had an area of my front porch mud jacked. The process caused the concrete to crack in two places and it settled back (about 1/2 way) within a year. I had to replace the entire porch and I would never consider mud jacking again.

Do it right the 1st time and be done with it.

Don't like that sound of that. It looks like someone replaced all the concrete on the property not too long before I bought it. The actual slabs look good but they've heaved and sagged all over the place. I wish "do it right the first time" was an option for me but that ship has sailed.

Mud jacking can work but you need to figure out why it's moving before deciding what to do with it.

I had the front entry and walk done at my last house. Worked great at it is still holding up 4 years later.

I ended up getting my driveway removed and repoured - been good for 20 years so far. Not sure how the cost ($1300 at the time) compares to jacking or repair these days, though.
