View Full Version : Trump Just Announced He Wants Term Limits for Congress
Listening to him at the Springs rally and again at the GJT rally today and he announced that he wants term limits for congress.
I would link it but I can't seem to find it anywhere on MSM as they are too busy pumping Hillary and hitting Trump for assaulting women instead of talking about things that pertain to the job they want.
This alone should win over some votes in my opinion. Would be great if he could get it done but who knows...
Maybe some details will appear soon if the news folks would do their jobs.
Just realized the MSM is doing their job and not talking about anything positive with Trump. Perhaps Trump will post it on his own website?
He also said he doesnt want the salary either.

Has Trump said anything about the movement for an Article V Convention?

Completely irrelevant statement from him in a last gasp grab for votes, as there is no way for him to implement it. I believe the house and / or the Senate would have to implement such term limits on themselves. And we all know that would never happen.

There is already term limits for congress. We just do not use it.

That's right, we can vote them out but we don't.
Would take a Constitutional Amendment with ratification of 2/3rds of the States.

Actually term limits for Congress are part of the Article V Convention that has been proposed and voted on by several state legislatures, that's why I asked if Trump has made any statement about the Article V Convention.

Define we.
We as the citizens of the US. It is reported time and time again that the approval rating of congress is extremely low yet we vote the same people in over and over.

The plan will be to get a new amendment to the constitution. I can't imagine why anyone would not want this except for those in congress.
Would love to see this happen. Would love to see it limited to one term!

In todays political climate (FREE SHIT FOR EVERYONE) the last thing needed is a Constitutional Convention

An Article V Convention of States isn't the same thing as an open Constitutional Convention. Only the specific amendments that have been put forward during the process of getting state legislatures to vote for the convention will be voted on at such a convention.

So if we have a government full of worthless a**holes from local to federal who are only there to line their pockets, pillage, plunder, control, and pervert the Constitution, how will they follow it after they make changes under an article 5 convention? The Constitution is not followed now as it is and hasn't been for a long time hence the current state of affairs in the United States and the world for that matter. Most politicians today are only there to manipulate, control, subvert, and steal from the public.
The fact of the matter is that the Constitution is not the problem... The government we have is a shadow of our decaying society.
