View Full Version : World Series 2016
I have been a Colorado Rockies fan since they announced the team. Many times I give up on baseball some time in early august. However, there is just something magical about baseball in October. I'm rooting for the Cubs because Dexter Fowler will always be a Rockie to me.
I'm rooting for the Cubs simply because nobody gives them a chance and I feel their fans deserve to see their team win it all for sticking by their team forever.

I'm rooting for the Cubs because I'm one of those poor people that has been a fan of theirs since I was a kid.

all you have to do is go to Coors Field when the Cubs are in town to be turned off for life. I wouldn't pull for Hillary's Cubs if they were playing a roster of Saddam, Fidel, and Chairman Mao.
But, it's clear who the weenie announcers are pulling for--the major market.
Is Smoltz pitching later in this series? You'd think it from the commentary.
Smoltz is the only good thing about the broadcasting. He's at least got the experience to make knowledgeable remarks about the game. Joe Buck is a tool and the post-game crew is equally worthless. Ol' Petey only had two words to say after the game, "Superman" and "amazing".
I'm headed to Chicago this afternoon. We've got tickets for games 3, 4, and 5.

Who's playing?
Exactly. I knew the Cubs were in it, but I don't have a clue who the AL team is.
Cleveland Indians. Another team who hasn't been to the World Series in a long time.
And Hillary wore a Yankees hat before she jumped on the bandwagon and put a Cubs hat on.
Growing up in Chicago area, this is pretty cool...
Its been a long time coming for the Cubbies and I know the whole Chi-town area is in a frenzy. There are people that have been waiting their whole lives for this moment. Sadly alot of them have died.
Now lets move back to Wrigley and finish them off....

^^ Assuming a guy had 2 tickets for each game, that's somewhere between $25,000 and $30,000. Ain't no ballgame worth that to me. Lotta guns are, though!

Go Tribe! [emoji60] (hey, where's the other Indian?)
A buddy and I have season tickets so we were able to purchase the tickets a couple months ago. We sold the earlier postseason games for a nice profit that covers our trip. Wife and I have been receiving offers for our seats but this is one experience I'm not passing up.
I'm rooting for the Indians because .... #$%@ the Cubs that's why.

A man has to have his priorities.
May be a "once in a lifetime opportunity"
Good on you!

Let's see ... Cleveland versus Chicago. Birthplace of Superman versus the home of Al Capone, Barack Obama, and Dick Dailey. To hell with the Cubbies, I'm with the Indians.
I haven't followed any baseball all year....and I'm actually enjoying watching these 2 underdogs in the series. I've got no skin in the game, and it's relaxing to just watch it play out.
Even tonight's game at the Blues Brothers' home address.

Yes, we wore bear suits.
So tonight during the pregame tv program someone is holding up a Hillary for prison sign. Made my day.
During a local news station post game report, a guy grabs the mic and shouts "Bill Clinton is a rapist!".

Saw that during the post-game over by Murphy's Bleachers sports bar. I got a chuckle out of it.
Game is tied, top of the ninth. What a nail biter. Those errors by the Cubs are coming back to haunt them.
Rain delay going into extra innings!?! Arg
I have heart burn caused by this game... Damn Lester and that wild pitch.
Lester? How about Chapman, or Maddon for pulling Lester too soon, and telling Baez to bunt on 2 outs, 2 strikes.

Cubs win!!!
How 'bout that
Hell of a game! HELL of a series!
I only watched game 7, not really a fan of watching baseball, but that was an exciting game. I didn't care who won, but it was tense, close, mistakes on both sides, big hits. It was good entertainment.
Not a cubs fan, but finally!
Yeah, I watched lots of CUBS game on WGN from a cable back in 1991 summer while recovering from surgery.
Even though they're not the best team around, I'm a Rockies fan, second favorite is any team playing the Yankees. I was glad to see the Cubs finally pull one off, especially with LeBron sitting there rooting for the Indians lol
Was very entertaining. Definitely not a 'blow-out' like many championship games. I caught myself rooting for Ross, the old-timer.

Both teams were teams I'd like to see win. Glad the Cubs won because it's been longer for them. Maybe someday the rockies will pull their heads out and take care of business.

Not until there's a change in ownership. [beatdeadhorse]

And quite honestly, a salary cap. Baseball is a beautiful, but quite unfair game.
My Brewers are in an identical place. Horribly managed from the front office (like the Rockies), but until there is a salary cap, they simply do not have a prayer and even a playoff appearance is a miracle. If Billy Beane couldn't do it...
