As you all might remember, I posted a little highlight video of the summer's offroad festivities (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYnWywEtFbA) a while back. I have started a new offroad club with a few guys and we are looking for people who would be interested in overland expeditions as well as wheeling day trips. Do you have a 4x4 that you can realistically navigate through terrain like Twin Cone and China Wall? Have you seen some of the overland channels on YouTube and thought you might like to give an expedition a crack? Feel like your weekend rig is getting neglected 'cause you don't have a second (or third or fourth) rig to help with recovery and spotting? Join us.

We are doing a meetup this Sunday, Nov. 6th at noon. Call to Arms Brewing Company on 45th & Tennyson is the location. Feel free to shoot me a PM and trade contact info if you'd like. Or just drop by and look for the black guy with a goatee accompanied by a wiry guy in glasses with a death metal guitarist's haircut.

Feel free to bring the daily. No run planned afterwards or anything, I'm in need of some repairs before the next run and I know some folks have afternoon obligations.

Looks like a 2nd gen (2005+) double cab Taco to me.

Have you looked into Rocky Mountain Overland? The last meet up had some nice Toyotas. Meet ups are second Tuesday of the month at Odyssey Beerwerks in Arvada.

Semi-interested. I want to test out the wife's ride. Grandcherokee diesel, rock crawler mode with locker. (all factory). I definitely want to get new tires though and that won't be for a while yet. maybe by summer.

Sigh...my K5s are sitting out in a field, and my 3/4 axles for one of the builds are sitting on jack stands in front of my out-building. I wish I had the time and money to get working on these projects because I would sure like to go. I spent way too much money on finishing up my firearm purchases the last few years.

My new suspension gets delivered this week. I think it'd be a good idea to have this meeting at my house where the members can help me install everything. You know, just to make sure they know their stuff.

Well, feel free to come shoot the shit and meet some folks in the meantime. The multi-day expeditions are probably gonna be on hiatus until May as it is. The snow's already starting to cut off access to a lot of alpine routes.

Wheel, set up camp, shoot, drink beer. If that's your kind of party, come on down.

I'm just refreshing my Amigo, nothing special. I don't think it's ever been maintained, so I'm doing a combination of replacing parts and needed maintenance. The last, only, time I went wheeling with guys off the board, I jumped the Amigo and pretty much trashed the shocks. After that the rear readily bottomed out and the tires started cupping pretty badly.

New shocks all around
New rear springs
New HD torsion bars up front
Change rear diff fluid and gasket
Extended brake line bracket in rear
All new ball joints up front, as well as an upper ball joint flip.
Looks like I'll need new CV boots on both sides as well.
I think I ordered low profile bump stops, but now I'm reading something saying I should have taller ones since the shocks will be longer.
Depending on how firm the new ride is, I'll either get greasable sway bar bushings, or remove them completely.
Need to figure out how to change the fluid on the front diff as well.
Alignment after lift.

Did I see this posted in a certain FB group dedicated to a specific military unit? Or am I going crazy? (Most likely both).

Bummer, I was just sending you a PM asking about which trails will be passable this weekend. Tomorrow or Saturday and I'd be there.

Actually, what time do you think you'll finish up?

It'll probably be a relatively short trip on Sunday. At least for the main convoy. A co-worker and I might stay and squeeze off a few rounds before heading out. Almost surely by 2 PM.

We may make an appearance tomorrow in the Amigo. I really need to be home by 1pm, so that may entail turning around early, or starting early. Don't panic if you don't see the silver Amigo at the starting point tomorrow morning. :)

Been a while since I've stopped in, gents. The offer is still open to all interested parties with a 4x4 that can poke around moderate trails. We're going to be running around this weekend up along Keyser Creek/Little Muddy Creek/Williams Fork Res. If you're interested the Facebook post with details is here: (http://tinyurl.com/yb73zt2p)

NKB will be running Little Muddy Creek from the south end at Keyser Creek up to Williams Fork Reservoir. We will eat lunch there, and we encourage everyone to bring fishing poles, and/or a canoe. There is plenty to do at the res. with the rest of the day, so take advantage!

If you're a fan of whiskey, beer, grunge rock, and shooting the shit, we'll be camping in the area on both Friday and Saturday nights, and you're invited to join us there as well. Shoot us a message for more info.

Meet at the south end of Little Muddy Creek trail along Keyser Creek at 10 AM, Saturday the 22nd of July. This is an open run, and all are invited. The trails we run will be mild, but 4WD with decent ground clearance will be needed. Trail descriptions and GPX files of both trails available below. Come in from Keyser Creek's east trailhead in Frasier, and meet at the trail junction for LMC.

I'd really like to get back into some wheeling, if I could ever get a weekend off, I'd join you. Come to think of it, I haven't done anything in the Xterra other than some dirt roads.

I need to put some more focus back into my rig, as wheeling is a passion I've fallen away from. A couple inches of lift would be a good start.

Sounds interesting.

Never really worried about being stranded since there are so many people on the trails these days. Also have an terra with jeep front end. But this weekend headed to Ouray for the week.

Any chance of running some winter trails? I’m thinking next month might be a good time... weather permitting.
