Ordered 2000 rounds of pre-election 9mm that was delivered to my house yesterday. FedEx said they left it in front of my door, it wasn't there. They've opened an "investigation" into my missing packages. They've assumed it's either stolen or delivered to the wrong apartment. No neighbors have admitted to have it. Should I keep an eye out on armslist? There isn't really a way to prove it was mine one way or the other.

Damn. That really sucks. I always ship things to work so I don't have to have it left on the porch but I know thats not an option for everyone. I hope you find it. :(

That's why you always ask for SIGNATURE REQUIRED, when ordering.

Get yourself a Ring video doorbell. I got one a month ago. Extremely valuable tool if you have important deliveries. Not cheap, but WELL worth the peace of mind. And very easy to catch porch theft. And it's recorded. Check it out.
and I'm betting they left it at the wrong house. Ups is WAY over worked right now and they are making a lot of mistakes. Each driver is delivering a lot more packages than last year. In the same hours per day.

We got one of those doorbells and I love it. I actually answered it when a solicitor came by at like 730 one night and I was at the bar. Its pretty cool. Throw in the fact that EVERYONE gets recorded that comes to my porch and I'll always have one.

I've had UPS show delivered to me across the country in some PoDunk city back east, then have the package show up on my porch the next day here in CO. Go figure.....

Keep this thread updated as to what ends up happening.

FedEx said the driver has 48 hours to give them the exact location where they delivered the package. I think my renters insurance may cover this, going to call the insurance company tomorrow.

I haven't had issues with FedEx yet but UPS has delivered about $1200 worth of my stuff to a house about a quarter mile up the road from me more than once. I'm about one bad delivery away from really pushing for some asshat to get fired.

My area (condos) they often just dump everyone else's packages on my doorstep. One evening I found 3 packages to 3 different addresses sitting there. On the other hand they can never deliver my packages to me. One time I was standing on my porch when they drove by. I looked on line and they had listed the delivery as having been attempted and me not being home. I got in my car and chased them down.

This is why I have most everything delivered out to Will's house. The in town drivers are a bit stupid.
I'm sure he wont mind if you had stuff delivered out there, or even to my house when I move here in a few weeks.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm probably going to be ordering lots more especially if I get money from insurance on this.

Time for HD video at your front door. They make some cheap stand alone units that will upload video to various sites and send you text messages with still photos.

Sorry to be rude but never ship with FedEx. They are horrible.

I always ship with UPS and pick my ammo orders from the will call. I tried this with FedEx and it was a shit storm. I always make sure that my order is though UPS

Unless you are grandfathered in, the lowest deductible for a renter's policy these days is $500. At that point, I wouldn't advise going that route...especially if you plan on buying a house/condo/etc. in the next 5 years.
Especially because most State Farm/Farmers/Allstate call centers will open the claim automatically even if you just call to ask about it.

You can't call the insurance company directly to ask claims questions without a claim being opened. You honestly probably wouldn't want the advice of someone in their call center either.

Throwing out a bit of hope here....back when I was sponsored by Montana Gold, a woman stopped in my drive one day. I walked out to see what she wanted and she says, "uh, I sees you live at 175 north haven and i's live over at 175 (something or another) is got some heavy ass boxes in my drive that ain't mine. They yours?" I went over and sure enough 5 cases of bullets, something like 17,500 .40 Bullets to the wrong house.

Once in in a lifetime luck.

Just out of curiosity, how much would you guys pay to have packages delivered to a local business in the metro area? You'd have to pick your packages up by 4-5pm though. If I knew of a friendly business owner, and I was expecting an important package, I might pay $10 to have it delivered some place where I know that someone will be around to bring it inside until it could be picked up.

Both UPS and FedEx offer services where you can request that packages be held at their location for pickup. I think they're both free but I could be wrong. Have you looked into that?

Long story short, FedEx told me nothing. The driver was unable to indicate where they dropped the package off. At his point I suspect the driver kept my ammo. I'm supposed to call the company that I purchased it from and settle it with them. FedEx can kiss the fattest part of my ass right now.

Seems to me you never got what you paid for, so the seller should ship it to you again and then the seller can file a claim with FedEx for reimbursement.

Who knows, it might still show up a month from now. I've had things lost in the void suddenly get delivered weeks down the road.

For example, legal pleadings mailed USPS express overnight. If you think ammo pisses you off... missing critical deadlines like that can cost you an enormous bundle and a half....

Then when it finally shows up and gets delivered something like five weeks down the road (EXPRESS) then you just filed a new pleading on the docket without your own knowledge. *face palm*

Okay, setting a motions hearing on... wait, what? MINE? What?

To top it off, the USPS insurance process - to AT LEAST get my shipping cost back - online claims filing tells you to file it in person (address). At the physical location, they tell you that you can only file claims online. Thus, USPS doesn't actually have shipping insurance around here.

Who knows where packages and mail disappear to for months. I suspect there's sludge off to the side of a conveyor belt that only gets cleaned every year or something.

Yeah, I mailed the rent check for my shop on 9/28, from Golden to Lakewood. I get a call from the landlord on 10/16, asking where the rent is. I tell her when it was mailed, and agree to drop a check by their office on the way home. I do, and all is well. she calls me on 10/28 to let me know that the original check was delivered...with a 9/28 postmark. 7 miles, 1 month.[facepalm]

I was suppose to get my order today from optics planet. But Noooo. The order was here in Denver yesterday but now it is back in IL. I called FedEx after work and got this sob story of how my shipment got missed place. I told the lady on the phone if this was UPS this would not have happened. I got more BS stories and was told it take an additional week.

Glad Fedex made it right for you Izzy.

I try to get all my shipments via Fedex to my house. UPS is a f'n joke here in Longmont. Fedex will be by my house no later than 11AM, even for ground.
UPS? When they actually deliver on the day they promise via tracking, I have literally had the UPS moron show up at 9:15PM (not during holidays or other high package seasons). Usually they just update the tracking number 2-3 times pushing the delivery out a day or more each time.

I was voting absentee in Colorado for the 1996 election because I was stationed in Maryland. I sent my ballot off 3 weeks before election day by dropping in a collection box at the post office located 0.75 miles from my townhouse. 2.5 weeks later, it was delivered to my townhouse. I took it straight over to the post office and expressed both my displeasure and the importance of having my vote delivered to Colorado for the election. 1 week later, it was once again delivered to my townhouse in Maryland.

Are kids lucky if they don't get caught on camera retrieving their ball that ended up in the neighbor's front yard?

UPS used to be great for me. I just had a package get pushed last night though. Back to "out for delivery" today. Ugh. New driver. Our old driver used to be here by 10 am most days. New lady wont get here til 4 at the earliest.

FedEX, UPS, Etc. isn't really the issue, it's the individual driver. I used to be a rabid fan of FedEx and then we got a new driver and it has me seeing UPS in a whole new light. In hindsight, my situation wasn't affected by a given company, just a motivated honest employee. My current UPS guy is great....I just fear he'll retire and then the dice gets rolled again.
