View Full Version : Places To Shoot Around Frisco?
Heading to Frisco this weekend. Where to shoot? Feel free to PM, I'll keep it a secret.
Don't really want to have to go to HSS. Help a brother out.
TIA

Is it open? They just had a bad fire there a few weeks ago.
There's a free public range near Keystone by the transfer station/dump. Take US6 east out of Dillon, it's on the north side of US6. Only about 100 yards max, but it's a place to shoot. Haven't been there in several years but it's either city or county owned and well maintained, no RSO's. I used to stop there to rummage for brass when I still had my telecom route job.
<edit> Huh, I just looked at CSTONE's link, that's the same place I'm talking about, but it looks like it's been heavily improved since I was there last! Wasn't much more than a couple of berms bulldozed into the hillside last time I was there.
Just wondering if anybody's been to this public range by the Keystone Transfer Station recently? I haven't been by there in years, just wondered what it's like now?
It's still good. Was up there a couple weekends ago.

It's nice. A number of years ago they totally upgraded it. New tables, the 100yard is fully covered. Target stands, targets and ear plugs provided free, Range Master on site. It's paved too so no more mud like it used to have this time of year.

That's awesome news. Thanks!
Wow, I might have to go check it out! Since I lost the job I had traveling to 15 different telecom sites statewide, I rarely drive in the mountains anymore. I used to travel them a LOT.
Hmmmm. I might be in Keystone this weekend.
