California goes further down the slide of stupidity. I hope all the incoming issues that legalized rec pot becomes the start of "rock bottom" that makes people there wake the F up.

Won't affect us at all.

You don't think it will slow the pothead influx of people we get?

I hope it does.

I think it will. But CO is still a very lucrative state to live. Tech jobs are growing, more companies are moving here. It's the baby Silicon Valley

I think it will thin out the deadbeats that moved here. The urban travelers. Street corner beggars. Mountain tent/camp living hippies. California is a much better climate for their lifestyle. And more sensitive to their needs. Meaning the state will give them more.

Now what we need is a real bad winter and that will push most of the bums back to CA ... and a percentage of the libs with jobs.

Not very much, if at all.

As others have said, maybe for the bums/freeloaders/vagrants, but not for the productive members of society that want to do drugs on the side.

CA is still more expensive to live in, and it's not CO. Denver was voted the #1 place to live, and not simply because of decriminalized pot.

I don't because mmj has been almost about as accessible there for years.

It was the same way when I was there in 2010. Part of the influx from CA isn't just the pot here. It's the fact that CA is too expensive to live in. Crappy desert towns cost as much as Denver sometimes. I was paying 1100 a month for a studio apt in OC

My buddy just got a one bedroom apartment for $1,200 a month here.

Where? There are still plenty of places (crappy) one can get for 50-75% of that. But not in California.

I'm not sure, nor do I care. He makes bad choices constantly and this will be a heavy dose of reality for him.

No, it's here in the metro area. Rent is crazy here, but we're not in disagreement that they are still worse in California.

When my wife and I got married, we started out in a little apt in Littleton "2 bedroom" which was the size of the studio I had in COS few years prior. Started out paying 600 a month when single. When we left to move into a house, I checked the apt on the real estate site. Was going for 850 (!).

Yes but CA has higher salaries/wages. Thanks to 2007/08 wages aren't moving now so it's harder to price in this higher cost of living in CO. A lot of people I know are struggling and they aren't deadbeats (made good decisions, go to work, etc).

We are headed to CA cost of living with CO income and it's going to crush the middle class. Min wage will only make this worse.
