Civics seems like it's no longer being taught, so it's not like they're inhibiting their understanding of the process or the limitations of the Executive branch. They probably got the wrong impression from Obama ignoring the checks and balances in the way our government is structured.

Unexcused absence.

This is what you get when the special snowflakes of society who always got a "Participation Trophy" suddenly have to grow the fuck up and realize life ain't Burger King.
You can't always have it YOUR way.

Field trip? They're probably learning more walking down a city sidewalk than they were in a DPS school.

It'd be kinda nice if the PD told the school "well good luck, it's your problem, tell them not to walk in traffic" LOL. I know, I know, it's for the sake of the children. And Skip nailed it.

Schools pretty much allow walk outs for any reason. I remember there were a few planned walk-outs when I was in school, but I can't remember what a single one of them was about. I do remember that not a single one of them worked. High school walk-outs are as effective as the "Don't buy gas next Tuesday" posts on social media.

When they're old enough to vote I'll consider caring

Well, a lot of high school students are 18, or will be next year; and all of them will be next election. School kids are almost supposed to by liberal though.

It would be interesting to me to know which children participated in the walk out and those who didn't. How many participants are involved in extra curricular activities, especially sports and band? Which children had career ambitions and those who just wanted to get out of class?

I call bullshit on the whole thing but I don't imagine that the children who have participated in activities where there are winners and losers, or had jobs where actions have consequences, or have tried to look farther ahead than the weekend, or even college, would take part in such an event. Then again, peer pressure is very persuasive.

And no public school teacher would encourage the students to depart for the day leaving the teachers with a much more enjoyable work experience. That would never happen. [shithitsfan]

They don't understand this type of protest does nothing as the system worked how it should have (even with massive voter fraud).

I actually find it funny that all these butthurt Trump haters are protesting and wanting to secede or leave the country. I’m more than happy to see them feeling like we did when Obama got elected. At least we were smart enough to be civil. Regardless of what these whinny snowflakes are learning in school, protesting a peaceful and honest election is a useless waste of time and will have no effect on the outcome and rule of law. Get over it we did. Be grateful we live in a country where an honest election is a privilege, many others don’t have the option.

Because there was none. Grown adults don't act like that.

My friend at work who has kids was wondering what they were doing in school. Apparently his kids had Veteran's day off. I don't know....don't have kids, and don't really remember school.
