Also, as a subtitle, f**k Frontier airlines.

I figured since it was only an hour and a half flight I'd save a few bucks and fly Frontier.

So, we were late leaving because one of the 156 computers on the airplane wasn't working right and had to be rebooted. (The pilots words)

Then, they manage to get us to our destination a little early. Cool. Right?

Wrong. Landed but no gate available. So on the tarmac we sit. And we sit.

It's now ten minutes after our scheduled landing and we are still sitting here.

Another hour and I'm opening an emergency exit and getting out of here.

F**kers.

Stopped flying Frontier a few years ago. Attitude of attendants went down the tubes.

Is it the airline's fault if the airport has not made a gate available?

No, but after a typical Frontier experience, the camel's back finally gave out. Frontier was my preferred provider before Republic bought them out. Now they absolutely suck and drove me off to become a United customer. Republic ruined Frontier.

Don't know. Don't care.

Every time I have issues with traveling by plane it's always on one of the smaller, cheaper airlines.

I figured somebody like United needed the gate so they just made us wait.

I won't fly any airline until my CHL is good on the plane. And my sister in law is a flight attendant for Southwest so if I really wanted to I could fly free.

Ugh. The wife and I flew frontier to Vegas and it was bad. They charge for EVERYTHING and you don't get a tray, you now get a "shelf". Your phone may or may not fit on it.

As someone who flies weekly and has multiple millions of miles on several carriers - your "agony" is tiny tiny droplet in the bucket that is all that could have sucked.

Silly boy. *ALL* the airlines suck - and NONE of them give a shit about you.

Not the way it works. I have waited for 3+ hours at the gate, in August, without AC - on United.

I am happy they didn't lose my luggage.

And, in the grand scheme of first world problems, I suppose if I had driven I would still have about five more hours in the car.

Enjoy your trip. Don't think about the return flight till an hour before you get nub rubbed at the checkpoint for the return home. [Coffee]

While house shopping in Texas, I did lots of Frontier flights... my record was $64 round trip DEN-DFW.

All that time, I didn't have any experience as bad as an American flight back from DFW for work.. was supposed to get in late- 11p or so... I didn't get home until 5a the next day (there's a 2hr drive from Denver in there somewhere, but it still sucked)... Out of all the travelling I have done I have learned to expect the worst so I'm not disappointed.

My worst flying experience was a C-130. Fell asleep between Kuwait and Baghdad. Woke up to a combat landing and the quick pressure reduction gave me a migraine for days. Thankfully, I'll never fly USAF again. Didn't even get peanuts.

I just landed on a United 737 in o hare and it was the tightest leg room I have ever had even frontier has more leg room in economy.

my 6'4" dancer legged self was beyond cramped... The tiny lady im front of me insisted on reclining her seat bounced it off my knees multiple times and grumbled and tried again anyway when I asked her not too

My worst was a domestic flight from Bangalore to Dehli where I thought for the last 20 minutes until actual touchdown that we were going down all the way to the crash site.

Best flight was one from Denver to New Orleans. Fell asleep backing away from the gate and woke up when we landed. Best flight I remember was during OBC flying from Belvoir to AP Hill for an FTX. Big formation of Hueys flown by Vietnam vets right down the river. Just too cool for school.

Used to fly them ALL the time. Then through the mergers they continually got worse... and worse and then, yup, fuck them. Last time I flew with them was to get rid of all the frequent flyer miles. That trip sucked, really good with not flying them again.

I told my wife when I hit the lottery I'm getting my pilot's license and buying our own plane.

Getting your Private isn't difficult and not even all that expensive. Once I had kids and many other priorities, flying quickly dropped off my priority cliff. You need to fly enough to make owning worthwhile. If you think BMW or Mercedes dealerships have pricey maintenance, you will get a special treat out of dealing with most A&P shops.

If you have money and you just want to get places in the most special way, you could always look into fractional ownership of something really nice. I would like to get a ride in a Honda HA-420.

And to the OP, no airline is immune from flying fun. If you only fly occasionally, odds are pretty good that you can remember the one or two bad flights you've had. If you fly everyday, most bad flights just seem sort of normal. Bus with wings. Learn to galley loiter [Flower]

C-5A sitting backwards. Then again, that was an overseas MAC flight (Dover-Frankfurt) with a box lunch served by a young USAF airman while on leave with the wife and 6-month old son so really nothing to compare.

Anyone remember the C-141, interlaced knees flights from Gander to Rota? I seem to recall once boarding a plane where the loadmaster informed us the comfort pallet was not serviced and already full. Many water bottles were refilled during that flight. At least we could do it in our seat and didn't have to monkey climb the center bar while trying not to kick people in the head.

Those were cheap flights. [Coffee]

C-141 from Bragg to Honduras, packed knee to knee. When we went feet dry the pilots decided to practice their low level flying, following the terrain. Kid across from me threw up, splashing my legs, which made my platoon sergeant sitting next to me laugh until the kid sitting across from him threw up into HIS open rucksack. Karma is a bitch, Platoon Sergeant.
