I now have my SBR suppressed and I have a question re: buffer weight. Currently I only own an H1 buffer @ 3.9 ounces. After an initial 120 rounds I did not had any misfeeds and it cycles just fine as assembled below. I have read that you should go with a heavier buffer if possible to reduce wear. Do I need to bother going heavier or just leave it if I'm not having any issues? Don't want to buy one if I don't need it.

I run H-3's, since i have a few of them. IMO IF it's working, leave it alone.

FWIW, here's what I run and they all run with or w/o the cans.

bbl length/cal/make/gas system/buffer

I don't have port dia info.

14.5/5.56/Noveske/carbine/H
runs with either 762-SDN-6 or 556-SD

10.5/5.56/BCM/carbine/H2
runs with either 762-SDN-6 or 556-SD

9/300BO/AAC/pistol/H2
runs with 762-SDN-6

Typically go heavy until it stops running or locking back on last round, then drop one or two weights back light until it runs reliable with various ammo.

I've been lucky that all mine run short or long uppers with nearly any buffer I have at hand.

Whatever works.

H2 and a Tubbs flat wire spring is the easiest set up. Little fast with the can, little slow without.

I'm currently running an H1 with an extra weight for a Law Tactical and a Tubbs flat wire along with a Bootleg adjustable gas key BCG on my 10.3" SBR.

H2 and a Tubbs flat wire spring is the easiest set up.

Had Rob build me a 10.3" upper and this is exactly what he recommended. About 500 rds with 0 failures, most suppressed but probably 100 without.
