Perhaps it's a United pilot searching for the airport?

Airliner with an emergency dumping fuel?

...or maybe that's what they wanted me to think.

If it’s the Demonrats no need to waste their time and money here in Kolorado. Must be Trump trying to “fix” our state, I’m ok with that.

That was IRON99 with CSA Air. He was orbiting DEN for a while

www.flightradar24.com if you're ever curios. Although it won't show military planes for obvious reasons.

And the curious part is why? CSA's routes haven't usually, if ever, come in to Denver air space, let alone why circle for an extended period of time? Dammit, where'd I put my tinfoil???!!! :D

Denver7 reached out to a host of official sources in an attempt to learn more about the flight, but sources couldn't confirm many details at all.

We'll know it was chemtrails if we have different weather today than the 80 degrees and sunshine we've been having for the last seven months now.

That flight pattern looks like a pretty standard refueling rendezvous.

Where was his fueler, then?

And echoing others posts here someone on another forum stated:

Per Fark.com

"Judging by that and the picture above, it looks like it's an E-6B, which are the 707-derivative TACAMO airborne command posts based out of Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. And it also looks like that's a fairly well-used track, but this time they used a stretched 707 instead of the military version of a Cessna Citation V (the UC-35B), so everybody noticed.

And at 35,000, no, they don't need to talk to any control tower or approach control as it's well above that airspace. They likely were in contact with Denver center, but since its military, they're not going to tell you much. Really not much to see here."

That "racetrack" flight path looks exactly like what they do when they're doing aerial refueling.

Okay some dash cam footage from yesterday about 15:46 driving on Hwy 72 West. Jump to 1:20 and look up and to the left in the sky. Plane flying over did not have a contrail until it starts to emerge over the mountains and onto the plains. It's like it turned something on. Is this strange or just me and my lack of knowledge of the atmosphere?

Just noting that the "racetrack pattern" shown in the article is exactly what tankers do.

Turns out it was a TACAMO. Pretty sweet mission. No wonder everyone was hush-hush about it. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/navy-identifies-mystery-plane-over-denver-its-mission-still-a-secret

That's just what happens when the plane flies through changing temperatures and pressures while spewing out hot exhaust from the engines - which is very commonly seen when flying over the turbulent and inconsistent air of mountains and then transitioning to plains.

There was a C130 shooting approaches at Centennial yesterday. Surprised no one freaked out about that. He was far more out of place there than that 707 doing the sightseeing the other day.

Pretty neat to see him busting out of the clouds right at the minimums.

The link explains some of the things TACAMO can do (like control ground-based ICBMs from the plane) and they are all a part of the infrastructure for national survival.

More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TACAMO (The first few lines of the summary really tell you everything you need to know, and hopefully help you understand why this plane's training operations would be sensitive in nature.)

Not being a dick but a previous post said the app doesn't show military aircraft. Did I miss something? Cause if it does track all mil aircraft I'd buy the app for sure.

Not unusual at all, really. Centennial gets all kinds of military aircraft, usually late in the week. I hear they're for drumming up interest for the military recruiting centers at the airport.
