View Full Version : Suggestions on a new handgun?
So with Trump getting elected, I feel better about mixing things up and not so focused on the AR stuff. I dont have a ton of handguns so figured I should start expanding that area of my collection. I have pretty basic stuff like G19, FNS9, PM9, etc. But nothing that is just "whoa".
Some ideas I'm playing with:
Sig Legion
FNX tactical
Sig scorpion 1911 or something along those lines
Desert Eagle .50
Again, just something that isnt so common. I have some .45 ammo so going to a .45 platform isnt a big deal. I dont have any .50 so the DE makes me go to a whole new caliber. 9 is my most common though.
So...thoughts on the ones I listed? Pros/cons? Other ideas? The FNX has a free light offer right now so that one enticed me a little bit because of the value.

If I won, the lotto, I'd get one of those handguns that fires the .17 caliber round. I forget what it's called.
I really like the FNX Tactical. I think the M9A3 is pretty sweet too even though I don't actually have one.
I was strongly considering the FNX Tactical since I have an FNX-9, but I ended up going with the Sig P227 Tactical. It's a good shooter/suppressor host.

Yeah, the FNX has been on my list for a while and there's a free TLR1 deal with them right now. But to really get the full benefit, that means Ill need to buy a can too and that means 8-12 months wait which I'm kind of tired of as Im still waiting on stamps.

kinda hard to narrow it down between a 1911 and the desert eagle--sorta like "should i buy a pickup or a dump truck?" on gunbot, the cheapest 50AE loads are $1.17 per

It's much easier to bribe someone to bring their deagle 50 to the range for you.

LOL! Yeah, when I looked at ammo prices for the .50 ae, I decided against it. I ended up with the Sig Legion P226. Nicest hand gun I own now.

Yeah, Ive been mulling it over for a while now. Legion was my first choice but my first go-to places didnt have any and were on back order. Found one at DCF here in town so I went for it.
Got to the range today and Im very happy with it. I have a new favorite handgun.
