Still debating a 2x7 instead of the 3x9

Its a low profile. Nice. How does it shoot?

It should shoot great as I can do respectable groups with iron sights. I wont know what to do actually seeing the intended victim. I need to sight it in at CRC next week.

That is a really nice setup. Personally, I'd stick with the 3-9. Even though I rarely push past 5 power, I needed that little bit extra that the 9 power offered when I took my first elk a few years ago.

Nice setup. You will find little difference in the lower powers of 2X vs. 3X.
I would stay with the 3 x 9.

What caliber is the rifle?

I've only seen a Savage lever .308 (and I kick myself every day for not buying it) what kind of gun is this one? Looks nice IMO.

Looks pretty much Winchester Model 88 to me.

If it shoots well with iron sights all you have to do is zero it for the scope. I wouldn't worry to much about it after that. But if your going to scope it you might as well get the biggest scope you can fit on there and have it ready for incredible shots. Prairie dog shooting comes to mind.

Nice set up. My buddy just took a bull elk west of Steamboat with a bow. not sure how far. He missed a bull 2 days ago at 30 yards. He thinks he lined up with the wrong eye piece.
