Over the years I have ended up with several thousand (5K) Magnum Large Pistol Primers. All I load is 45 ACP behind 230 gr FMJ or 230 gr Lead Flat Nose bullets for my Kimbers. (Full size and Pro Carry II )

Using a Magnum Large Pistol primer, instead of a Standard...... is it OK? Any risks? I am usually running 4.0 - 4.3 grains of Bullseye, nothing too hot, plinking and bowling pin shooting.

Any comments or cautions would be appreciated........ TIA

Probably won't be a problem, but if you could trade them for standard large pistol that would work as well

I ran a test with 9mm and 10mm a few years back when primers were scarce, but you could find magnum. SD went up a tad but average velocity was not changed. I would have no problem using them.

That is a bit hotter load than I use to use for bowling pin shooting. I often used it with 200 swc setup, just making the correct power factor on the chronograph.

I use to setup some real light loads and used the cci Magnum primers when I just wanted to do a little bit of plinking...
