Looking to borrow or rent a 2 7/8 forstner bit along the Northern I-25/US-85 corridor.

I would rather cut the hole with a forstner bit than a small bit and jig saw if I can. I figure it will be much easier to take them in and out over time with a neater hole. I have a drill press but don't want to invest in the forstner for this one project. If someone has the bit to loan or rent out I would be grateful. I could also just bring my board and cut the holes there if someone was willing.

Hole saws are cheap.

Oh, and just for an alternative idea, you could use a thicker piece of lumber and use the forstner bit and only bore half through. In other words maybe a 2x6 and then just bore half way through and make little pockets for the heads to sit in.
