There is a place in Erie that I want to say is called Jeep Unlimited or something like that. Kind of a salvage yard for jeeps.

I think I have my morning tomorrow planned then, thanks!

The CJ2A was fun on a large spread of private rural (rugged) property but I'd be scared to death of driving one at highways speeds. It's the vehicle I learned to drive on....many decades ago.

That's what I said. I'm actually helping my wife replace the heater core in her '81 Scrambler right now. Upgraded the blower fan while it was apart.

LOL! The jeep in my avatar hasn't seen highway speed in a long, long time! :)

ha, I've got to do the same on my 73 commando. Not looking forward to it, I hear it's a pain. :(

It's not too bad. She got everything removed on her own. I enlarged the hole in the firewall for her (to accommodate the bigger motor), and really just provided an extra set of hands for the reassembly of the contraption. Still need to help her install it back in the jeep. Hopefully your Commando won't be much different...

They are only framed jeeps now ( CJ TJ Wrangler etc) Any unibody jeep ( Cherokee, Grand Cherokee .. etc) they don't do anymore.
I thought this thread would be for older Jeeps too. I have a '79 CJ5 with the blower upgrade, headlight wiring upgrade, and a few other things done. The blower upgrade was the best one yet.
My '47 CJ2a did go highway speeds but that was like 55 at the time. Bought many parts for it through J.C. Whitney.
