Ok,
The 458 SOCM thread went missing again in the "Other Caliber uppers section, so if you Mods feel the need to move this thread there, maybe it will bring that thread back from the Dead Thread tomb.

Anyone here have a few years old RRA 458 SOCOM upper or complete rifle that can tell me what the muzzle thread pattern is ?

I have been considering changing out the Smith Vortex one on my 458 but need to know what to look for to fit.

Thanks for any information,

SSB.

Likely 5/8 x 24 Bobbo.
Possible 9/16 x 24 but that leaves a mighty thin barrel wall.

By reason of deduction I can tell you it isn't likely to be 1/2"x28.

5/8-32 as per the web site specs

This is why I was asking about an older one, I saw the specs for the new ones. And was wonderering if they may have had a different thread.

It's an odd thread pattern for an AR style bbl. RRA said it hasn't changed. BUT.... an email to RRA should clear it up.
