Right before he went to bed last night, my boy tells me and his Mom that he needs a "mustache shirt" for school the next day.
My wife looks panicked. They both stare at me. Should I panic, too?
Oh, that's right, I'm a fucking Engineer.
I think: Glue gun? Check. Felt? Check.
I look at both of them.
"Daddy's got this."

One mustache? Please. That's bush-league. How about 16 mustaches?

Not big enough, you say? Got that covered, too.

Even threw in some mustaches liberty-dragon style*:

Sure, it's -5° out, but there's a gold-plated app for that:

Best part? Went in to volunteer for math this morning, and my son had peeled six of them off and given them to kids of lesser parents who couldn't provide mustache shirts, and/or were never told they were required. Mustache charity.

Has to be a great kid. Not only proud that his dad came thru in a big way, but willing to share his mustache treasure with others. Nice!

The most awesome part of the story isn't the Emergency Mustache Shirt or the child who shares his stache with others. It's the dad who takes such an active part in his kid's life. Nice work!

Did you also ground him for forgetting to tell you until the last second, as kids will do?

You get used to the strangeness after a while.
These days, my kids tell me they need a pair of wool socks, 2 lbs of white quartz, and a monkey in the next 48 hours for school, and I say 'Go check Amazon to see if there are any monkeys on Prime'

Or Craigslist. Gotta be a little more careful though instructing children to find monkeys on CL.

ROTFL.

No kidding. It scares me sometimes the things that come up even from a benign Google search.
